    Briar Fox

Nope, not just you. I'm not referring to Briar Fox specifically, but when I smoke something nic heavy, late, I have trouble dozing off. Odd since I was a heavy cig smoker, and will still indulge here and there. Guess it all depends on how you are absorbing. Back on topic, this is one I have...

Who is DK on Tobaccoreviews.com Because He is a Genius.

Yep, DK is one of my favorites, along with Jim of course. Light on the fluff and to the point.

    Bing Crosby Pipe shape?

That's some interesting reading, MLC. Amazing when you think about it... "Bing's platinum record of Silent Night was bid up to $1,700". Could you imagine if that collectible went for $1,700--which seems like a rather low price to me--what his pipes probably fetched. I bet you could have got a...

What was grandpa/professor smoking 30 years ago...

My pipe smoking mentor was my Uncle. I loved the smell of his den, with all of his pipes and tobacco. He didn't smoke anything special, but the smell was heavenly. His most common smoke was BCA, relabeled as something else in our local B&M. Sometimes he would switch off to 1Q, but BCA was the...

    Bing Crosby Pipe shape?

Good descriptor. Some of the pics with him and the long shanked Billiards look like they are over 7 in. It might just be perception to me, but when I have a custom job done, 7 1/4 is the required length.

    Bing Crosby Pipe shape?

The golf art is annoying... but the damn curved stem bothered me more. I always straightened them. The issue with the Savinelli and the Dunhill version of the Bing, is that they are a bit too bulky, and shorter than what he smoked, in my opinion anyway. Dunhill does it better, but I don't think...

Old Joe Krantz was blended by Bob Runowski--in honor of his Grandfather--not Bob Tarler.

    Bing Crosby Pipe shape?

Anyone know if Brian McNulty is still around? I have one of his pipes that I picked up as an estate, but I can't seem to find his website.

    I don't.

    Ipe pipe making

I would agree with Zack on this. Exotics are good for shank extensions and adornments, but I would avoid smoking anything out of them.

    Assemble Yourself Coffee Table

Ikea is worse than a casino. Once you get it, you can't get out. I have learned where all the little cut through shortcuts are though. This helps reduce the trauma a bit.

Report on pre-release sample of Virginia Cream

Sounds interesting. The fact that George is a fan of powerful tobacco and he still enjoyed this, is a good sign. Body, depth and some strength are usually what is lacking in anything even remotely aromatic as far as I'm concerned. This one might be worth a try.

Cornell & Diehl - "Plantation Evening"

Epiphany used to be a favorite of mine. Damn good stuff. Latakia doesn't agree with me anymore, but this was a go-to. You will serve yourself well to grab some, Death.

As cold weather approaches - what to do?

I'm fortunate enough to be able to smoke in the house, so this is never much of an issue. I think it is important to remember though that there are additional considerations to smoking outside in cold weather, especially if you have not been at this for long. 1.) You are going to likely find...

Virginia, Burley, Oriental, Balkan - What would you suggest

Tons of good suggestions here. I'll throw one or two more into the mix. I'm a Burley guy, so that's about all you will get out of me. You can't go wrong with almost any Burley from Uhles, though their Perfection Plug Cut is one of the best cube cut Burleys on the market, IMO. C&D - If you like...
