    "Who is John Galt?"

I re-read Atlas Shrugged about 6 months ago. Great book, IMO.

Balkan Sobranie - The People Behind The Mythic Brand

Did anyone actually find this on Amazon as an e-book? I'm only seeing it available in paperback.

    Absent From The Forum

Allan, good to see you around again. Sorry about the business, that is sad but with a bit of good coming out it seems. Hope you had a great holiday season, and look forward to seeing you in Chicago again.

In Praise of Classic Burley Kake

This is a no judgement zone. I loved the flavor and cut of CBK. The moisture was perfect. Problem is, it bit me like a rabid dog. I'm a burley guy, but the anise/licorice casing on CBK is what I suspect does not agree with me. Happened with other blends using the same topping. Too bad, because...

How Many of You Smoke Indoors?

That's my kind of office... a bar for a desk. Why didn't I think of that. I can freely smoke inside, but will often do so outside in the warmer months. Since getting the new car, I have only smoked in it once. I'm hesitant at this point. Still enjoying the new car smell.

    Turntables and vinyls

I have had a collection of records for years. Not a large one, but some Sinatra, Tommy Dorsey and some other big band stuff. My Mom bought me a reproduction radio/record player last year for Christmas. Love it, and haul out the vinyl once in awhile when I'm reminiscing.

    Suckiest Christmas Ever

Carver, you will get through this. This can be a tough time of year, and distance from those you love makes it even worse. It's also a good time for you and your wife to step back and evaluate what is important. As others have said, having your health, and each other is the most important...

How Severe Was Your 2015 PAD?

    5 commissions.

    It's A Major Award....Tamper

Love the movie, but got about 15 minutes into that documentary, and couldn't handle it anymore. Way too cheesy, and a bit dragged out. Side note... I would be interested in one of these tampers.

If You Could Only Have One Pipe Shape For The Rest Of Your Life

Long, pencil shank Billiard... more commonly referred to as a Bing.

Hell of a space, Dean. Nicely done.

    Savinelli Bings Favorite

I have always thought that a Bing should be at least 7 in. Might not be true to the exact specs of the Merchant Services pipes, but all of my commissions that I have had done I had made at 7.25. Gives you about 1/4 in. of clenching space and plenty of pipe.

    Savinelli Bings Favorite

Yes, but they usually require a higher temp.

Tis The Season For "Christmas Vacation"

Christmas Vacation, Christmas Story, It's a Wonderful Life, Christmas with the Kranks, White Christmas, Going My Way. Those are my go to movies. Quite a bit of pipe smoking in a few of them too.

    Savinelli Bings Favorite

I have 5 Bing's Favorites. I have straightened every stem. The bend annoys me.

    Pipe tobacco taste changed

I loved American English blends, ala Epiphany, Morleys Best, etc. Smoked them like no tomorrow. Then one day... BAM, just didn't taste good to me anymore. I can't do Lats, they just don't agree with me.

falling in love with a shape and size.

Long, pencil shanked Billiards. I'm slowing eliminating pipes that don't fit that, and accumulating more. I don't need variety... there is enough of that elsewhere in life.

    The Cosmic Method

I tried this for the first time last week, and I have been smoking it almost exclusively since. It's a VA that smokes like a Burley, which is why I fancy it. I used the Cosmic Method as well... mainly because I couldn't wait to try it... plus I was unaware of the Cosmic Method at the time...
