Ever Take A 25 Tin Flyer On Something You Have Never Smoked?

I never buy more than an 8 oz tin of anything, and then, they are in my primary rotation to begin with. I'm not a big fan of aging too much (not for years), at least not the blends I like. That said I did take a one pound flyer (never tried in advance) on Briar Fox and I'm damn happy I did...

    Top Five RYO Tobaccos

I have several tins of that cellared, but I forget: Is Sansepolcro a shag cut?

    Top Five RYO Tobaccos

I don't RYO (cigarettes) but if I did, it'd be Picayune and Five Brothers. My brother in law hand rolls his own, and primarily smokes Five Brothers. I smoke them both in pipes.

***What Are You Smoking, October 2020?***

You're right -- a nice stout fills in for a bourbon quite well.

***What Are You Smoking, October 2020?***

Big n Burley in a Chacom Army -- red wine on the side, which doesn't really go with it, but I've been drinking too much bourbon ;)

    Filter Pipes

To me they're a deal-breaker. Can't stand them. If I omit the filter, I dislike the greater airflow, if I use it, I dislike the effect on the taste and strength of the blend. To each his own.

How Many Bowls Do You Smoke?

    Three to six, on average.

    Pipe Cleaners

Alright, alright -- I've actually reused them when they didn't have to do much work -- usually after a burley blend, where the cleaner barely registers a stain. Now you can stay ;)

    Pipe Heaven Is...

Sitting under the roofed part of my deck watching a thunderstorm is up there for me.

    Pipe Cleaners

Also the bristled ones make great painful children's party favors. "ooooh a giraffe! OUCH! Mommy!!!"

    Chacom Pipes

I have two Chacom Army bit and one Chacom spigot, and they are my top of the line of pipe rotation. I think they are great pipes and were pretty reasonably priced to boot.

    Pipe Cleaners

I use them every smoke. I like the bristled ones if the pipe is big enough to receive them. By the looks of them after I pass 'em through the stem and swirl 'em around the bowl a bit -- I definitely don't want that stuff soaking in, or building up. I'm also pretty adamant about removing...

    Latakia Paradox?

Right it uses the rum and cavendish base of Blockade Runner as I understand it. Come to think of it I should grab some of that too.

Does Anyone Dedicate Their Lighters to Certain Pipes or Blends?

I assume you do that indoors, otherwise the fines would preclude you from saving money.
  15. --dante--

    Latakia Paradox?

You're right about that -- it doesn't strike me as a latakia bomb, which I thought it was going to be.

Does Anyone Dedicate Their Lighters to Certain Pipes or Blends?

Wait I'm good there...but I'll need to buy a big ugly medallion.

***What Are You Smoking, October 2020?***

Billy Budd in cob -- I'm in a bit of a nautical theme these days
  18. --dante--

    Latakia Paradox?

Same here -- hadn't smoked it since about 2010 -- now I crave Billy Budd, Black Frigate and OJK Red Label

    Impressions of SG Lakeland Dark?

I got it from the Briary-dot-com. They may still have some, I didn't try to buy them out or anything lol

    Impressions of SG Lakeland Dark?

I'm quite fine with Lakeland -- by comparing with Irish Flake I meant a relatively simple but quite strong flake blend. Thanks for your input!
