How Much Tobacco You Buy on Each Order

Not much. I'm slowly transitioning to a deeper rather than wider cellar (fewer blends but more stocked on those fewer blends). I almost never pick up anything new to try since I still have a number of unopened, untried blends. I tend to just pick up two 8 oz cans of blends in my core...

    All The Strong (Nic) Blends

I just ordered one of the logs. I was pleasantly surprised I could use PayPal.

    Evening Tobacco

I usually finish up with Billy Budd or Bow Legged Bear. Anything on cosmicfolklore's list would be a good choice too. This is assuming you want a reasonably strong nic-hit for your "night cap".

    Army Mount

I prefer army or spigot mounts myself. Peterson and Chacom both make quite good ones, IMO. I have two Chacom Army pipes that have been going strong since '05-ish with no issues.

***What Are You Smoking, November 2020?***

In light of recent developments, I'm having Picayune in a cob.

    Picayune.....

I agree the taste isn't the same. For me it was more of a switch from one strong n spicy blend to another.

    Called D&R Today...

I guess I figured it had a larger following than it did. More of an enthusiastic small following then.

    Called D&R Today...

I agree. Especially something as unique as Picayune. It's got enough followers that they could have raised the price, especially given that it wasn't expensive to begin with.

    Picayune.....

I don't know if it's considered similar, but I actually switched to Bayou Nights for a strong spicy blend. I ended up smoking it far more often than Picayune, but it scratched the same itch (for me). It's got the same ingredients, but with the addition of some latakia (not too much).

Comparing Strength of Various Burley Blends

I don't think I could order them completely, though I've had all but one. I can say that I more than replaced my nicotine needs when I quit cigs by smoking Five Brothers or Irish Flake, depending on the time I had.

Comparing Strength of Various Burley Blends

I don't think a cigarette has more nic than a strong pipe tobacco. Not even close, but admittedly I have no data I'm interested in digging up. What a cigarette has is chemical engineering. That tiny bit of tobacco can only have so much nicotine, but they've engineered them such that it...

***What Are You Smoking, October 2020?***

I plan to order some Bayou Night to try. I like strong burley-based blends to include those that include latakia and/or perique and orientals. I know you're a burley-phile like me, so I wonder if you might suggest something to include with the order. "Just include more Bayou Night" is a...

Can You Smoke Chewing Tobacco In A Pipe? (Yes)

I have been wanting to try Cotton Boll for some time now, but still have never found any. I was recently on a trip that took me through West Virginia, Maryland and Virginia, and tried several tobacco or 'discount smokes' shops along the way, to no avail, and unfortunately, it's not allowed to...

Strong Tobacco is Most Value for Money Pipe Tobacco

...but it's not a good value if you don't like the stuff in the first place. The nicotine is measurable, the "pure tobacco flavor" is subjective, and not "covered". If it was worded "and you consider this particular blend to provide pure tobacco flavor" and further 'pure tobacco flavor' was...

Strong Tobacco is Most Value for Money Pipe Tobacco

I do like a nic punch, and it's a factor in the blends I like, but not the only one, and I'd also have to consider that I don't like Dark Birdseye. At all.
