    Revisiting Blends

Agreed. This has always been my impression with C&D, and I would venture to say it goes beyond just their Burley blends. I'm guessing here, but I think because of their space constraints in the past, C&D had quite a short time from processing to the shelf. That is not to say their processes...

    Dunhill Bing 4110

Stan, I am a Bing fan. I have almost every finish of the Savinelli Bing, and figured I needed to have a Dunhill 4110 to complete my collection. My opinion... not worth the money. It smokes great, I won't deny that. But... for what you will pay for that Dunhill, you can have a custom made pipe...

    Lane's BCA

If I had to guess on a scale of 1-10, it would be about a 2. Very low nicotine, at least to me. BCA is an interesting one. I tend to like tobacco with some serious tobacco taste. Heavy, hearty, good Burley blends... but BCA once in awhile is a nice little break for the palate. Hints of vanilla...

    Aromatic Haters Top 5 Aromatics

I had a similar experience. I found it lacking in the actual tobacco taste department. Improved immensely when I added some rough cut Burley to it. I suppose that defeats the purpose though.

Replacing Missing Wood---Heavily Damaged Patent Dunhill (pic heavy)

Holy hell, George. 8O I have seen and held the original in person. Never... never did I think THAT was possible. All I can say is Bravo. I know the owner will be VERY pleased with this. Nicely done.

    Cigarettes are putrid!

I was a 2 pack a day smoker. Cut that way back and now it's a cig here and there for convenience. I'm not a fan of the smell that permeates everything, but having smoked for a fair portion of my young life, it's also not "putrid" to me. There are better smells though. Let me ask this though, of...

    Aromatic Haters Top 5 Aromatics

I need to add that to my list. After seeing Cosmic's list, I guess there are a couple that fall into the aro category in my favorites list. Oh well, I guess I'm a frooty tooty aro guy. 1. Shortcut to Mushrooms 2. Royal Yacht 3. Warrior Plug 4. McQuaid

    Aromatic Haters Top 5 Aromatics

The most interesting part of this thread is seeing what some consider aromatic vs. others. That's a whole other discussion though, and if I'm not mistaken, it has been had before. Still interesting to see peoples choices.

    Aromatic Haters Top 5 Aromatics

That's about the only one I can think of that I enjoy. I like MacB Golden Extra, but I don't really think it fully qualifies as an aro. Some may disagree though.

    Speed Resting A Pipe

As has been said... smoke it. Run cleaners through it between smokes, leave a dry cleaner in there until you are going to smoke your next bowl. As St. V said, many, many smokers for many, many years smoked 1 pipe. Rest was not a consideration. Don't overthink it.

    Your Disappointing Blends

I would agree. I like to describe them as VA's that smoke like a Burley. I suspect that's why I like them, but didn't expect to.

    Seasonal Smoking Changes

No specific schedule. I smoke what strikes me, when it strikes me. I'm pretty much a Burley smoker though, so the variety in my rotation is pretty much different Burley blends.

    Tenon/mortise gap

There are as many opinions on this as there are Penzance threads. The fact is, engineering arguments aside, it all comes down to whether the pipe smokes well for you or not. I have plenty of pipes where the tenon/mortise length are not perfectly matched, and they smoke great. Don't stress... it...

    Cornell & Diehl Exhausted Rooster

This one has always been on the "to try" list, but I never seem to get around to ordering it. I'm back in that stage where I'm just enjoying the blends that I like and not diddling with sampling as much.

    Esoterica's Stonehaven

Hey, it's a good week. There is actually only one thread on the main page related to Esoterica... this one. That might be a record.

    Your Disappointing Blends

Disappointing: Classic Burley Kake (the flavoring doesn't agree with me), Solani ABF (I prefer the Wessex Burley Slices any day) Surprising: Royal Yacht, Peterson Irish Oak, Shortcut to Mushrooms

    Penzance in Stock

The phone? What's that? I expect all availability of Unicorn Fart blends to be brought to my attention here, then I can scream and cry foul when it sells out in 3 minutes and blame the world for hoarding it. Yeah, that sounds about right.
