Anyone Else Find That Smoking A Pipe Makes You Hungry?

Usually the opposite for me. But sometimes seems to increase stomach activity but that's rare

    Stem Tightener Kit

If you are going the glue route. Get the "BONDIC" epoxy pen. Hardens instant by the built in uv light. Results are similar to super glue. If not just wrap some Teflon tape if it's for your own use. Works great but you gotta replace it every once in a while.

Cake, and Cake Questions (with Pictures)

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Looks fine. If you want your cake even in the future just get some sandpaper and make it smooth.

    Corn Cobs

Okay well then yes a cob is a great choice, especially if you are new to smoking. And the legend actually has a mid sized bowl so it might be a good one to start with.

Is it Necessary to Cellar Tins Into Jars?

All depends on the conditions in which it's stored and how often you open the tin. If it's in a cool place with higher humidity like a basement cellar it can be fine for months. I live on the coast and don't have to worry about changing things over quickly. I took a visit to a drier part of...

    Corn Cobs

Yep as you can see here lots of cob lovers. They are a nice reliable smoke. The legend is...well....a legend, but any one would be a nice choice. Just depends on the bowl size you want really. I like the standard acrylic stems, but haven't tried the fancy ones yet.

Does The Tin Aroma Often Live Up To The Taste?

Well most of the time it's not going to exactly be the same in the smoke as the tin. How could it be? It's fresh vs burning. But some notes come across and sometimes more notes than others. VA/vaper can come close and I have found condor and st Bruno to carry the essence across through the smoke...

    Lost Pipes

Lost my first pipe which was a Brigham. I didn't smoke pipe much for a few years and notnsure where it went. Also lost an amazing little cracked up beater pipe somewhere on the streets of Romania...filled the void with a MM cob and lots of flea market estates during my travels, but I do miss it!

Is There A Decade That Most of Your Pipes are From?

It seems like most of mine are from the 50/60s. I think that's just the last real heyday of pipes and mass production of them. For me it's not really about my personal tastes but more about what I can get my hands on in flea markets/antique stores where I usually look for pipes.

1999 Tin FVF, Smoke or Sell?

Sell it. You have so much stocked away. Be patient and enjoy (more than one) 20+ year old tin in 10 years when your 2009 tins get there. For now buy a bunch of new blends or a pipe with the funds from the sale.

Dear Experienced Smokers Who Smoke Fast

+1 dry your tobacco +1 try some really strong tobacco Try those things first then look at other pipes. Falcon pipes can capture alot of moisture. Meerschaum pipes are also dry smokers and can soak it up. Your problem could also be the design of your pipe. Some pipes just smoke wet due to design...

    Looking For A Little Reassurance...

Depends if you package says "arrived" at customs or if it said something like completed customs. First it can arrive in customs in Toronto and then be sent somewhere else and customs completed. I had some whole leaf stuff take at least a week at customs.

What Keeps Your PAD/TAD in Check?

PAD Well probably the fact that even 10 pipes should last me many many years with proper care. So my 15 or so pipes is all I need. I'm not much of a collector, I am more practical and like to use the things I own. Now I just feed the urge by buying pipes to resell. And I just end up keeping...

    Breakfast Blends

I don't really have a regular blend for breakfast but usually something neutral in flavour like a straight burley or a whole leaf homemade va/ bur blend that's been toasted or steamed. I like something subtle since my tongue can pick out flavours better in the morning. But honestly I've...

    New Falcon Pipe

+1 for pipe cleaners. Falcons are nice to have around and always give a cool dry smoke. I was just in a snowy cold place here in Canada and my little Brentford falcon gave me some of the coolest smokes I've ever had. I grabbed a piece of ice and held it on the metal under the bowl for some...

    I've Been Busy!

Oh neat, well yes I'm just working my way to 100 posts so I can sell on here and then you can take the falcon if you want. The other pipe on the right is a jima. Made from 1960-80s in France. A removable clay bowl and this weird spring filter thing. It actually smokes amazing. Very cool and...

Long-Winded Questions About Smoking a Pipe

Your pipe should be fine if everything is clear. Sounds like something is clogging the airway. And as others have said. Dry the tobacco and pack light.
