I would expect in the neighborhood of $150 on Ebay ... but you never know! -
Meerschaum Pipe in Sunlight
My guess would be no degradation - but possibly some variation in the coloring, as the meer has a wax coating. Examine the pipe. If it looks good to you, then I'd say no problem. -

Has anyone bought from them...therightpipe...?
I've had excellent experiences buying meers from Deniz Ural, located in USA; and from Sinan Altinok, located in Turkey. These are my two favorite meerschaum dealers. -
SMS Meerschaum
In my opinion, yes, SMS is precisely that - a good, midrange meerschaum. -
Altinok Pipes
I only collect and smoke Meerschaums and I give Altinok (and Baki) thumbs up! I own five Baki's and several pipes purchased from Altinok - all excellent. By the way, Mr.Baki is a carver and Mr.Altinok is a dealer, selling pipes created by various carvers.- jerry

Question on Meerschaum "Burnout"
It's true that repeated use of a pipe cleaner can eventually create a hole in the meerschaum, if the sharp end of the pipe cleaner digs into the pipe. So, when using a pipe cleaner on a meer, I watch what I'm doing, and stop short of contact with the bowl. I know this from experience :-(- jerry

Zappa Interview Excerpt
Big lifelong fan of FZ. I also had prostate cancer, but got it diagnosed before it spread too far. It was intermediate stage and moderately aggressive. If I didn't get the PSA test, it might have been a very sad story for me.- jerry
