A Newbie Reviews: Moonique (Homemade Aro)

 I can't tell you how many times I have said the same damn thing. One day, you will come up with the perfect home brew blend. Great flavor, burn, balance... only to find out you lost your notes, lol.

A Newbie Reviews: Mac Baren Virginia Flake

Just looked it up. Guess not. I always was under the impression it was, but it seems they are two unique blends. My bad.

    Your First Smoke?

First smoke was some of my uncles BCA in a pipe that he had gifted me. I think I was around 15. Captain Black randomly after that until I started back up full time in my early 20's. First smoke I really enjoyed was Crown Achievement, though the first time I smoked it I said it smelled and tasted...

A Newbie Reviews: Mac Baren Virginia Flake

This is the flake version of MacB Virginia #1 I assume?

Don't Have a Cork Knocker? No Worries!

I just throw a wine cork on its side in the ashtray. Works just fine.

    Making Deathmetal Proud!

I have a tin opened already, these 8 are getting put back into the cellar. No touchy for awhile!

    Making Deathmetal Proud!

Let's put it this way... I would have bought more, but that was the remaining stock at Marscigars.com, lol.

    Making Deathmetal Proud!

Little bit of TAD arrived today. This isn't all of it, but the part that I knew DM would appreciate. In all its glory...

Damn right about that. I have 6 or 7 at last count. Very few who can do a Bing like Scottie.

    First Homemade Aro

I'm sure some do. I recall seeing a video once of a tour of the C&D factory. I'm pretty sure I recall them talking about one of their blends that uses bourbon and they had actual bottles of bourbon on the shelf in the factory (label removed or course). Wish I could track down that video.

    Smoking Metal - Pic Heavy

Always considered picking up a Falcon. I kinda dig how low profile they are. My only real issue is they typically do not hit the length preference that I have.

A Newbie Reviews: McC 5100 Red Cake

You are on a blending tobacco odyssey, HM. Good for you. Smart to try out tobaccos on their own that are often components of other blends. This one is another classic. I know plenty of guys that smoke this straight all the time and love it. Now take some of this, mix it with a little of that...

    Quality Issues With That Unicorn

Depends on the bags. I use 3 mil Mylar that gets heat sealed. Same bags that "preppers" use to store food long term. I have always been surprised about peoples concern with the Esoterica bags. While they are not as heavy duty as the stuff I use, I find them to be of sufficient weight to keep...

    Need some information please

Oh yes... I have seen this one. I recommend putting it up on eBay for around $150.

A Newbie Reviews: C&D Black Cavendish

Good stuff. I keep some of this around at all times. It's a great way to smooth out the rough edges of a blend. It's not bad on its own either, as you experienced, but it really shines mixed together with the right stuff.

A Newbie Reviews: C&D Chopped Cigar Leaf

My personal experience is that C&D Cigar Leaf is intended as a mixing condiment. I just don't think there can be an expectation of amazing complex flavor from this. Add it to a blend with some Burley & VA in it and I suspect you will notice a major change in character.

    Making Your Own Blends

When I have attempted to create a somewhat complex mixture, say something with 3 or 4 different ingredients, I will use weight. There are too many variations in volume in that situation, and it becomes a lot more important to be accurate. That being said, for most of my mixtures, it's usually...
