I read somewhere that zippo flints will work, but that softer flints are better. I’ve just used the Kiribi ones I’ve had, so not sure.

Yeah. They’re NOS. You can tell also because the Austrian made ones are magnetic while the newer ones and knock offs aren’t. They’re stainless. Pros and cons for both.

Yea. The same. It’s great. I like the slim profile of the 6800. The Triplex 6700, however, has the flame control. It’s also more robust. The candle is also more stable if placed on a table - but how often would you use that feature? I absolutely love em’ all.

The Austrian made ones are getting more pricey as time goes by since they don’t make them there anymore. The Japanese ones work well though and aren’t as pricey. There are pros and cons to both the originals and the current Japanese Windmill models. I’ve heard that both are better than the knock...

    4Noggins - Tobacconists - Missing In Action?

Yeah. I just count on paying the customs. Buying in bulk and selection still makes it worth it.

New Zippo Pipe Insert - Butane!

Just got mine. So far so good 😊. It’s been lighting every time. Definitely an upgrade from the ZPipe. Wish it had flame adjust, but not a deal breaker. Since it’s shielded on one side, it is more wind resistant than my Peterson. Still nothing compared to a regular Zippo pipe insert or my IMCOs...

New Zippo Pipe Insert - Butane!

I know the feeling! It’s like a whole new world opens up to you. You double your living space.

New Zippo Pipe Insert - Butane!

That’s the life! I wish. I’m relegated to outside in the Canadian climate.

New Zippo Pipe Insert - Butane!

I’ll give it a go. Have a ZPipe insert, but the darned thing doesn’t light half the time. Keep clicking the pezioelectric ignition button, and never know when it will start - and that’s inside the house with no wind. I’d much rather have a flint and wheel any day.

That’s a beauty! My 6800 was my last acquisition 👍 Now I’d just love to get a 6900 Gunlite. Can’t find a nice one for a reasonable price though. That’s my bucket list lighter.

We’ve had some great zippo posts and pics . I’ve got a couple I love. My main outdoor lighter, however, is the Imco. Anyone have any cool ones? Austrian made IMCOs from left the right. 6600 Junior, 6700 Triplex and 6800 Streamline. Far right hand side is a more recent 6700 Japanese Windmill...

Best Refillable Lighter-- Xikar, IM Corona or Peterson?

I love my Peterson when it’s not windy, but I also love my IMCOs. I have a 6600 Junior, 6800 Streamline and a couple 6700 Triplex lighters. They’re brilliant.

    Another gargoyle pic 😂

    Zippo Standard or Pipe Insert?

    Yup. It does.
  15. Bassman65

    Zippo Standard or Pipe Insert?

It’s ok. Takes a bunch of presses to get it to light. Thought I’d like it, but I’m a much bigger fan of flint based lighters. Peterson, IMCOs and Zippo with pipe insert.

Best Refillable Lighter-- Xikar, IM Corona or Peterson?

If you get a new one, get one of the new Japanese Windmill versions. They bought the tooling machines etc. from Imco when they went under (so I hear).

Best Refillable Lighter-- Xikar, IM Corona or Peterson?

I love my Peterson for the pipe and my IMCO 6700 for the wind and everything else.

    Smoking jackets?

I’ve got a few of those. When I want to feel dressed up. Lol.

    Pipe Bits Necessary?

I want to like them. Stop the ugly teeth chatter, but I just don’t like the feel. Bought the new Back to Our Roots trio from MM with the green stems. They don’t sell replacement green stems, but I just can’t stand putting a softy on.

Savinelli Luisa Fiammatta pipes - slight disappointment (should I be?)

I agree. If you got a product you were unhappy with, you should return it. The description did not match the actual item.
