    Olivewood Pipes

No complaints with my Rattray. One of my favourites.

    Your Own "Worst" Tobacco

Anything with an anise profile. Mark Twain was exceptionally awful.

What Pipe Brand Don’t You Own But Want To?

    I’d love a 9mm filtered Peterson with a P-Lip.

    9mm Charcoal Filter Brand Comparisons

Good to know. I was considering trying the Blitz due to their price point.

    9mm Charcoal Filter Brand Comparisons

Interesting how different smokers have different preferences. I rather like the Vauen Dr. Perl filters. I also like the Jean Claude filters. They’re good value.

NPD: Vauen Topas 150 Paneled Apple

This is my favourite pipe. A Vauen Luxus.

NPD: Vauen Topas 150 Paneled Apple

Agreed! Although I can only compare them to my Savanelli, Peterson and Rattray pipes.

NPD: Vauen Topas 150 Paneled Apple

I use the Savanelli 6mm charcoal in my Sav’s and filtered cobs. I use the 6mm Vauen in my cobs with acrylic stems, because the Savanelli’s don’t fit. I use an old wooden tea chest with different compartments (scrounged from my wife) to store and separate my different filters. Lol 😂

NPD: Vauen Topas 150 Paneled Apple

I use the Vauen Charcoal 👍

NPD: Vauen Topas 150 Paneled Apple

I’m a 9mm filter guy and have 3 Vauen pipes. Love them all. They’re absolutely brilliant.

    Your Own "Best" Tobacco

Right now I’m loving Lane Black Raspberry.

9mm Charcol Filters vs Meerschaum Throwdown

The Jean Claude 9mm AC filters are good also (name aside lol). I use either these or the Vauen.

    Meerschaum Chips and Nording Keystones

Tried the Nording keystones twice now. Once in a 9mm filtered cob and once in a 9mm filtered Vauen. My take - aways so far are positive. I’m an aro smoker largely, and don’t often dry out my tobacco. First try I got no dottle but a little tongue bite even with the 9mm filter. Second time, no...

Show Us Your Knife (And Pipe)

    A Vauen Luxus and a Mercator K55K.

    Filter or Non-filter Pipes? Confused.

You got it. It’s all personal preference. I started out not using filters, now I’m a filter guy. I have pipes that take 6mm ones and others that take 9mm. I prefer charcoal filters, but have also used balsa and meer. It’s all about trying different set ups until you find one that is most...

Did You Lose Your Taste for Aromatics Over Time?

First aro’s I started with were vanilla or cherry based. They were just ok. Then I tried one with anise and thought this is awful. I consequently moved to non-aros and found my groove with an occasional aro mixed in for giggles. Then I found Lane’s Black Raspberry. God it’s good. Unabashed aro...

    Block Meerschaum

The hardest part is finding a 9mm one as I prefer using a filter.
  19. Bassman65

    Block Meerschaum

Yeah. Too good to be true.
