How many blends are there *really*

From my brief stint on the periphery of pipe tobacco marketing, I can tell you, unequivocally, that there are many duplicate blends out there, the same product in different packaging. But how many people have actually (correctly) call them out? What that shows is that most people don’t notice...

Ordering pipe tobacco online in Italy

The EU has led the way on overbearing restrictions on personal freedoms. Individual countries choose to make things even worse. Either way, citizens made it all happen.

Get a second and third job. Sell your blood, or a kidney. Pimp out your sister. Rob a bank. Roll a bum. So many easy ways to bring home the bacon. Personally, I prefer to abandon my responsibilities to my family and spend my entire paycheck on obscure tobacco blends. Children are forever, an...

How Much Cellar Tobacco is Too Much?......or Is It?

That's a 4', 4-burner propane griddle that I picked up years ago for cheap. The top is 1/2" thick. A real pleasure to cook on. I really need to find a stainless table for it and have a grill-type lid made to keep rain and mice out.

What is your "grab & go" tobacco?

Most blends are too wet right out of the tin for me. Otherwise, I grab whatever is sitting out, which might be my whole Domke pipe bag. Why limit yourself?

Who Is Your Favorite Pipe Tobacco Blender?

Rus blending John Cotton prototypes, 8-15 Just as there are important distinctions between Favorite Chef and Favorite Restaurant, so are there between Favorite Pipe Tobacco Manufacturer and Favorite Blender. STG isn’t my favorite manufacturer, but the wealth, depth and breadth of knowledge...

    Inconsistent Presbyterian Mixture

There are no seasonal changes, per se, as most blenders manage leaf batch changes by blending new leaf in slowly over time. As far as Presbyterian Mixture having sudden mood swings, don’t discount other variables like your own palate or different pipes, tobacco moisture content etc.
