Comoys - Transplant a C drilled Stem Logo

Ok, instead of just posting a picture of one I did and letting everyone pick it apart. Let’s try another exercise, you tell me which C or C’s I did. The closeups are not in the same order as the pipe pics.

    Two Hundred Dollars?!?

Pipes are made in a factory by factory workers. Most makers don't make a pipe worthy of a price point they just make pipes, most all equal in quality or lack thereof. They then sell those pipes at a variety of price points arbitrarily with no regard to quality, grain, or anything else. As long...

    Meerschaum Mystery

The cork mortise is pretty standard but I think it was threaded at a later date to accommodate that beautiful stem. Cork is an absolutely terrible material to thread. I think that mortise joint could be improved. It’s a fantastic pipe and probably pre 1910. It’s most likely Viennese.

    History of Rustic Pipes

Rusticated pipes have been around since pipes started being carved in one form or another, it gives the manufacturer/carver a way to reclaim pipes that otherwise had to many surface imperfections or flaws to be smooth. It was the main form of material reclamation prior to the advent of sandblasting.

    Anyone have Dunhill innertubes?

They are pretty easy to make, you can get the tube at the hardware store. Just cut it at a 45d angle at the length you need.

Comoys - Transplant a C drilled Stem Logo

I thought of bidding on this one but didn’t in the end. If I had won it I would have just turned a new C for it and notched it.
