***What Are You Smoking, October 2024?***

You're most welcome, glad to see that you're enjoying it! There's something about Peterson in a Peterson that just feels right...similar to Savinelli in a Savinelli, or Ashton in an Ashton, or...hey, does anyone know how many characters I'm allotted in a post before the server crashes from being...

    Do Virginias Burn Hotter?

A legitimate concern, for sure. It's certainly worth a try. Love a good VA myself, and the extra dry time isn't really a problem for me, since I dry everything more than most folks do. But VAs get the most drying of them all, even more than I give some aromatics. Otherwise, it's a sopping wet...

    Do Virginias Burn Hotter?

That happens to me too. I have learned to combat this slightly by drying them a little bit extra, verging on crispy. Some oppose this strategy, but I've found it to make a bit of a difference. As with anything on here though, YMMV.

What Are You Listening To? - October, 2024

Right now, listening to Bill Laswell's remixes of various Miles Davis tracks: Earlier... Steve Roach - Climbing Escher's Stairs, from The Skeleton Collection, 2005-2015 (2015). All over the map today...as usual!

***What Are You Smoking, October 2024?***

Ran out of time yesterday, but I am glad today warmed up enough (25F at 8am) to enjoy a half-bowl of Mac Baren Plumcake in a Barling sandblasted egg. In-law encounters are blessedly over for the time being, and once again I am, as George Costanza would say, basking in the buffer zone. Bird...

    Gold

Hence the often exorbitant premiums that prospective buyers must contend with. They seem to reduce significantly when the spot price inches upward. It's as though the sole purpose of the premium's existence is to try and defray the effects of price manipulation...I wish I knew more about how...

    Gold

Coincidentally, yet another record high for gold today, about $2.720/oz. (about what Penzance is going for), as we head into the weekend. I'm sure it'll follow a version of the same recent pattern though, i.e. a pull back on Sunday, a bigger rally later in the week, and then $2.700 becomes the...

What's The Chance Of Subway Series?

As a former Dodger fan (former baseball fan, really), I certainly hope so. It will bring Dave Roberts that much closer to getting his well-deserved walking papers.

    Crowley's Bookshop

Sounds like a perfect room note to keep my in-laws away.

    He's One of Us!

So that's why P&C sold out of Sutliff Frosty Mint!

Greetings from the Panhandle of Texas!

Welcome to the forum, from chilly (seriously!) Southern California. Chris aka Muttnchop was quite helpful to me in the beginning as well, once I got used to his laconic delivery style. Plus, he piqued my interest in the now sadly defunct Drew Estate blend line. Enjoy the journey! 👍

    A Smoking Room

That all depends on what position. I wouldn't want to be on top, since I'd have to take my eyes off the...uh...business at hand, to stare at the intricacies in the ceiling. That'd just be unfair to my....uh...activity partner, might give her a real inferiority complex or something. These days...

    Lane Limited Bulk Blends…

Tried a few here and there, but BCA is the only one I kept in any amount more than sample size. I found LL-7 and RLP-6 to be fine, but redundant to each other, and not as good as Sutliff 1M in my opinion. TK-6 is a fine choice if you like cherry, but seeing as I only go for that myself once in a...

***What Are You Smoking, October 2024?***

I'd be hard pressed to think of a better feeling than being done with (another) visit to the in-laws. One of the few is being done with that visit AND having enough time at home for a pipe before dark! Drew Estate Heirloom Cherry in a Savinelli Mattone 614 faux-Hungarian, with a well-deserved...

    Gold

While gold keeps setting record highs (I think we're somewhere in the neighborhood of 30 just in this year alone), its younger brother silver is flying below the radar, as though ready to ride gold's coattails. It's an incredible value right now...I mean, can anyone think of anything at all that...

    TAD Acquisitions 2024

See, that's just lousy parenting. Seriously! They should just give it an estate Kaywoodie and let the child take it from there. 🖖
