Female Cop Rescued by Female Motorist

He shouldn’t be in the country. If he wasn’t here illegally this would not have happened. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. It is definitely part of the story. We have enough legal idiots creating havoc. Does it make sense to compound the problem? It isn’t about hate. Just...

    Are Expensive Cobs Better?

I find the plastic bits to be very comfortable for clenching. I prefer the Danish bits. They are only a few dollars a piece and they fit me a little better. I have Forever stems but I am reverting back to the stock plastic bits or the Danish bits. These bits fit me better and feel softer. The...

    Hi from "Dirty Jersey"

Welcome from New Mexico. I know a guy who grew up in Philly. We started the same week as technicians at a semiconductor chip plant in Vermont back in the '90's. Soon after we started, three or four of us were in the bullpen having lunch. and the guy from Philly called the mechanics shop to see...

    Do Aromatics Suck?

I have a small stash of aromatics I accumulated when I started out. I am trying to work through them to free up the jars. I just mix in a bunch of 5 Bros, Two Timer or Ryback to dry it out and bump up the nic. It works well for me.

Will Italian Makers Ever Switch Back to Ebonite/Vulcanite Stems?

I prefer vulcanite to acrylic as well. I did a search on SP and came up with 23 pages of Italian pipes with vulcanite stems. Prices range from $52 to over $1000. I didn’t look too closely but saw a lot of Savinelli...

    My New Beauty!

I would call it a bent brandy, to my untrained eye.

New Arrival - They Are Proliferating Like Rabbits

Oh yeah, much worse. I just got back into fishing this year after about a ten-year hiatus. I recently bought a new fly rod to fill a niche that my other rods couldn't quite fill. I hadn't bought a rod in about 13 years. I went into sticker shock. The rod alone, without the reel and line, which I...

New Arrival - They Are Proliferating Like Rabbits

I thought the same thing but I gave it a try with a lower priced meer. I dropped it on a tile floor and expected the worst. All it did was put a small flat spot on the side of the bowl. I have been smoking it often since with no problems. Give it a try. You won’t regret it.

New Arrival - They Are Proliferating Like Rabbits

That is a beautiful pipe. Well done! My one and only eBay binge years ago involved fly rods. I haven’t been on eBay since. Now you got me thinking. Must resist.

    First Smoke!

Looks like some decent tobacco. The mini cob may be ok for a while but do yourself a favor and get a medium sized cob like a Missouri Meerschaum Legend for less than $10.

Pros and Cons of Meer Lined Pipes

Have you smoked briar pipes? It sounds like you have only smoked a meerschaum lined pipe and are asking for opinions of briar vs meerschaum. Would this be correct?

    Domestic Flights with Pipe.

A few years ago, I was going through the Pre-TSA line with two pipes, a Bic lighter, and two 4 oz jars of tobacco in my carry on. Got pulled aside after they x-rayed the bag. They swabbed the outside of the jars. They didn't ask what was in the jars. I asked why the swabbing and got no response...

    TAD Acquisitions 2024

Makes sense! I like Ryback and 5 Bros. 5 Bros has a little more kick. I haven't tried the other two in your order. Never tried G&H Dark birds eye.

    Pegasus: Love for One Blend

It was bulk. The moisture was just right. It is definitely growing on me.

Wilke Gramercy Park boosted with Ryback for my end of the weekend smoke.

    Pegasus: Love for One Blend

I bought some Pegasus based on this thread. I smoked five or six bowls in different briars and thought it was just OK. Nothing I would reorder. Then I tried it in a cob with a wide open draw. What a difference. I actually enjoyed it. Still on the fence about reordering, but I won’t have a...

***What Are You Smoking, September 2024?***

Getting windy on the patio so moved to the courtyard. Smoking Wilke Peanut Butter from a Meerschaum Market meer. Uh
