    Certain pipes just love to get hot no matter what you put in them. I have a Moonshine Canadian that idles at smelting level heat. Sometimes a pipe just attracts the heat pixies and theres nothing you can do but be patient and build some cake.

    It may be an anomaly that simply slipped by quality control. I have several Peterson's that I've collected and even a factory second and have never come across this issue. I'm sorry that this happened but maybe try to reach out to customer support and I'm sure they'll do their best to fix this...

    Pipesandcigars do some interesting sample packs, maybe start there. You could also look at the tin sales rank on smokingpipes to see whats popular, but that's contingent on your taste and palate matching with others. If in doubt though you could ask the forum what types of blends would match...

    Unique Ways To Carry Around Pipe Tobacco

    Try carrying it in a tightly folded shred of a magazine page or a prescription bottle with someone else's name on it. COCs love seeing those types of things. And I feel your pain, having to walk to the smoke pit to smoke a pipe and get side eyed by the dart smokers is an odd experience.

    I'm curious as to what everyone considers their complex tobacco blend. The blend that you reach for when you want a deep contemplative smoke. One which you discover a different subtle nuance to each time you smoke.

    The owners been in the business for years, so have many of the regulars who would all be happy to share their experience. The smoking lounge there is also a welcoming place filled with all kinds of people, so there won't be a shortage of good conversation while your wife wanders the boutiques.

    Welcome from Virginia/New York. When you see a wild pipe smoker it does bring a little cheer, it is a rare occurrence though. I've only seen one outside of a B&M recently.
