What was your first blend and is it part of your current rotation?
Just like Joe H ... several US Army pals in West Germany & I all started with Middleton's Cherry Blend, which we got from the PX. I "graduated" to Mixture 79. Have both today in the cellar, the Cherry Blend thanks to one of my Pipe Club brothers. :)- Sandblast

I spent 3 Thanksgivings away from family = 1 at Ft Lee (VA) & 2 in (then) West Germany. Not sure what's available for your son, but I will say that the US Army Mess Halls always served excellent Thanksgiving Day feasts (!!!). No complaints came from me.- Sandblast

Opinions on the Prince Shape
I felt lucky, years back, to find this Savinelli Prince 304 Military Stem. I always admired the Prince shape. This is my only Prince. Actually, most of its appeal was because it was a Capri. I have a history of the Capri Dublin 611 Military Stem, so this 304 was "must have". -

With the good-sized bowl in my Rossi 8815 Lumberman, I filled it with some Speakeasy (thanks to Craig's generosity) and even though it was nicely dried, it lasted nearly 2 hours.
