Lee Van Cleef is in the house

I think this would be a better link to see my Lee Van Cleef pipes available at the time rather than an individual link as they are fast seller: https://www.altinokpipes.com/Lee-Van-Cleef Happy smokes..

Fred Bass Status = Broken Pipe

What a pity loss. Fred has been one my good friends in many years who was very interested in meerschaum pipes. He was in fact one the best known meerschaum connoisseurs. He smoked almost only meerschaum pipes and collected best quality ones in his life. We recently chatted each other about his...

    Meerschaums and cold weather

In my 13+ years of experience in this business, I neither lived or heard an unpleasant story about meers in cold weather. Unless it is a pressed one or somewhat in inferior quality, they should definitely be ok in the temperatures where your body feels good enough. Happy smokes.

Pre-Colored Meers...Is it dead? Post em up!

@64alex Pre-coloring is completely different than colored wax. Pre-coloring is performed by burning the bleached wax with a special tool. A smooth yellow, brown color is made by some special chemicals in the wax itself.

    A Meer Poker Nosewarmer

Good looking pipe. I loved the unusual meer shape.

    Do Meerschaum wear out?

If the question really means about the meerschaum itself, my answer would be definitely no because meerschaum is sort of a mineral which is produced in thousands of years. It can wait a few more hundred years to wear out, I believe :)

Has anyone ordered a pipe from S. Yanik's website?

Sadik is a great artisan about intricately detailed carvings. However, his site seems to be a bit difficult to view and order. It is worth it though.

    Strambach's Cultured Meerschaum

I really don't get it how dare they could call this "meerschaum". Because it is white?? Worse than this, they even call it *premium meerschaum* on their ebay page!! It's a BIG lie. I would like to ask them how they inserted the thousands of pores into the body of their "cultered meerschaum"...

    Think This is Meerschaum?

The shape suggest it can be an old Austrian made meerschaum pipe. However, I saw some replicas made of either meerschaum and wood. Can you see the inside of the shank when removed the stem? It must be white or off-white if it is meerschaum. If still looks dark, you can scrape the end gently just...

Meerschaum Block Pipe - Info request

@patack It's most likely a pen-portrait of Genghis Khan. One of the historic characters we make replicas most. Here is another example of Genghis Khan replica pipe made by our master carver, Suleyman Coskun: https://www.altinokpipes.com/FG1032-meerschaum-genghis-khan Happy smokes, Sinan Altinok

    From Turkey - Direct

Hi Gary! It's great to hear from you again. I'm delightedly remembering those beautiful days at the Chicago Show '05 with all you guys from Stoker's Haven. What a group it was! All nice people and lots of laughters.

    From Turkey - Direct

Medet has been one of my good friends for many years after I started my pipe business. He is one of the master carvers here who signs his pipes sometimes as Medet sometimes as Emin. Emin was the name of his father. I thought sharing this would shed light on a bit.

    Meershaum pipes

Sir, all the names you mentioned (no idea who is Storient) are NOT importers at all. We are all located here in Turkey and making our pipes with our own carvers. Signature Pipes is my own designed series of pipes that was anounced a few years ago. For your information.
