    Drying Tobacco in High Humidity?

I put some tobacco in an open tin and leave it on a radiator for as long as it takes. Radiator being a heat source for the house.

    Ordering for a Cellar Blindly

Buy lots of what you know you like and single tins of stuff you think you may like, based on reviews. Like Chasing Embers says, pick 5, or 10 or whatever, favorites, stock up on those and get single tins of all the blends that seem interesting. That way you will have enough to smoke and still...

    What About Pipes Do You

True. I smoked cigarettes for 20 years not knowing any better. A pipeful of tobacco is so much more of an experience than a cigarette with its fast, ashflavored buzz. Yet when I crave nicotine, which isn't so often anymore, it's cigarettes that come to mind. Their addictiveness is strong.

Me too. I also like this guy's take on everything:

Just remember the trio: use moist tobacco, stuff it in real tight and suck on it like a hoover on steroids.

I'm not there, but I don't smoke lat blends anymore, so that's not an issue for me.

That too, yes. Well you can burn tobacco in all sorts of things, but yes.

    What About Pipes Do You

Somewhere you wrote about your pipes and how many you have and how often you smoke them. I can't recall the figures exactly, but I do remember that I did some math and came to the result that any one of my pipes gets smoked as often in one week that any one of yours gets smoked in one year. I...

    What About Pipes Do You

...Like, love, find fascinating etc? I think I have found out what my thing is. I like their durability. The fact that they are crafted from very old school materials, that they can be used again and again becoming more and more intimate to the user for each smoke, yet endure and, with some...

Sea Beef! It's What's For Dinner

I make a fine pilot whale beef bearnaise with grilled tomatoes. It looks nothing like your pipe though, which does looks excellent.

    Alternatives to Whiskey & Pipe

Me too. And various kinds of beer. My solution is to dedicate a couple of blends to those evenings when I allow myself a few drinks. I've found that especially rewarding with stronger blends. The strength of Royal Yacht, 1792 Flake, Old Dark Fired and some others is a bit too much for me unless...

    Possibly Another Favorite

The dark fired is very noticeable, yet mild. I am guessing there is some cocoa topping in there as well.

Solani Silver Flake! I've had one bowl only, so with that caveat I think I've discovered a blend equal to Capstan Blue and St Bruno. Those are my favorite blends and this Silver Flake just fits them perfectly. I'm in love, I think. I'm jarring some of it, smoking the rest and very probably...

Amphora Kentucky Blend: High-end Tobacco in a Pouch?

I've had Full Aroma and Virginia. Both are very good. I saw an anecdote somewhere about Per Jensen of Mac Baren saying that Amphora Virginia was what they wanted HH Pure Virginia to be like.

    No Taste

Try drying some tobacco until it is crunchy. If it's the navy flake, break it up and drizzle it into the bowl. Don't pack it, but tap the bowl to settle the tobacco and then smoke. I bet you'll taste it.

My head is about to explode! Those british upper class fancy shmancy things just make my brain scream dirty jokes and obscenities at light speed.

    Scottish Blends - Any Favorites?

I love McConnell's Scottish Blend and the very different MacBaren's Mixture Scottish Blend. But I hate scottish blends.
