How Often Do You Rub Out Flakes.
I very rarely rub out a flake. I fold & stuff and let the tobacco sit in the pipe for awhile before lighting. That usually works well for me. Mac- 5star

Pipes You Don't Smoke?
What happens with me is not that the pipes I rarely smoke are bad. (Bad ones for me are gotten rid of. Maybe they’ll work well for someone else.) - Its that I discover that a favorite blend just sings in a particular pipe, & I end up going back to it often. Mac- 5star

I have pipes I rarely smoke; many of those are in the back of shelves, so forgotten. Perfectly good pipes. - I have pipes I haven’t gotten around to smoking yet. None of my pipes were bought for ‘collecting’, all were bought to be smokers. I probably should stop buying pipes & get rid a few...- 5star

My New Clay
I ended up getting a Lepeltier billiard. I put a brass pipe screen in it, before loading the bowl. Works perfect. No clogging issues. Nice draw. Mac -

Ugly Pipes
I like it too ! All the pipes I own are pretty much classic shapes & finishes. Maybe that’s a bit boring. But that pictured pipe is Very interesting. I imagine its an artisan & more than I’d be willing to pay, (and may not have the chamber dimensions I’m looking for currently) - but I like it... -

What Do You Do After Major Upgrades?
It would help to know what your three pipes are. For example- if the other two were no name basket pipes bought from a pile of them in a cigar shop - and the new one you like is a nice Castello estate - - that would impact our replies. Mac- 5star

Upcoming State Tobacco Taxes.
Tyrants (big & small) do what they can get away with. They also tend to be very sanctimonious about ‘saving you’ & banning your personal pleasures/vices - but Not their own. Quit Smoking 30 Years Ago... Good to be Back
Terrific ! There are plenty of pipe smokers in their 70s, 80s, & even in the 90s, doing great ! Not too many cigarette smokers in those same age groups who can claim the same. Pipes are nothing like cigs - though most non pipers don’t know that. Welcome back ! Mac- 5star
