    Beginner

I find retrohaling easy to do, but difficult to put up with the effects. Stopped-up ears and sinuses just ain't worth it.

Watch City Rouxgaroux next week !

Like others have said, Hype is hype. But, the big but, is that this is a tremendous blend to me. The WCC Virginia blends are my preferred and in MHO the best. Rouxgaroux, SimplyVorential, Rhythm & Blues, Blue Ridge, Simply Orange, and Simply Red. As long as it's one of these blends, buy a...

    Peterson's Elizabethan Blend?

I've got some stuck back hoping it might improve. I found it too blah new.

Watch City Rouxgaroux next week !

I'll probably pick up two jars worth, 9 ounces. It's one of my favorites.

    Another Random Musing

I rarely need a char light. And, unless I lay the pipe down too long, rarely need a relight.

    Just Wondering about Gorgeous Pipes

Like a handmade flintlock rifle, they're only enjoyable if I can do with them what they were intended for.

WCC Simply Red and Rhythm & Blues

I was getting a little low on Rhythm and Blues, so I picked up some more to age a little before needing it. It is one of those in my regular lineup.

    Codgerisms: Exercises in Codgering

Shouldn't it be black electrical tape?

    Hot Water Flush vs. Alcohol

I have used both water and alcohol and found alcohol to be best for my taste. Any cheap rum is my preferred, although I'm currently using a good tequila that was given to me. I just dampen a paper towel, twist it, and rub out the bowl.

    A Terrifying Thought

I too, have always told my children that when my time comes, use their heads as most of my stuff has value. They need to think before just labeling it "junk". Thankfully, they know how to find something's worth.

    Good And Bad Smokers

As with all things like this, My perception may not be your perception ;). Normally when I get a 'new to me' pipe, used or brand new, I gauge it with my favorite base-line tobacco, WCC Rouxgaroux. I judge the flavor, aroma, and general pleasantness of the smoke. There are differences, and the...

Restoring and Repairing a Peterson's Special Horn - Republic Era

I've not been around horn used on a pipe, but have many times with it used on powder horns, horn utensils, and furniture on rifles. The normal cause for cracks there is allowing it to dry out too much. Like wood, horn requires an amount of moisture to remain stable. Just my experience.

Is a Zippo Pipe Insert Really Better?

LOL I've grown to love the smell of Zippo fuel burning. LOL

    Nice Little Tobacco Jar Find

    I'd prefer Bourbon.

I've got no Reason to Quit

I like my pipe, and I like a wee dram at night. In addition to that, my motorcycles and women. One of them may kill me, but it'll probably be something I don't like. LOL

I Finally "GET IT" After 12 Years

My favorite oriental is Simply Voriental by Watch City, a red Va. and oriental.
