It is really good. I’d been smoking it for the past 3 weeks to determine if I should cellar RC-01 as a pure red VA. I’ve put away 3 lbs now, with 1 lb mixed with Perique.
I recently used the Sutliff Ts-20 perique to mix with RC-01 red cake. Used an ounce per 8 ounces of red VA, so 11% perique. It’s ribbon cut, so I think it mixes a little better.
@Mrs. Pickles , I received my samples fine. I won’t really be able to smoke for a few more days. We are in recovery from the hurricane, with no power.
Appreciate the good wishes.
Thank for sharing this project. It was fun to follow.
I would love to know how that pipe would have smoked. Maybe after you boiled away the bowl coating.
I opened an old tin of Dan’s Patriot Flake tonight. Don’t know the year, but it was pre-2008. That’s when I quit smoking regularly, before starting up again in 2020.
The flakes are quite thin and uniform. Moisture is ready to smoke.
I bought my first Peterson last year. It’s a an Irish Harp sandblast straight billiard. Smokes great.
I thing the Irish Harp line is the best value Peterson offers.
Mystery solved. Thank you @Ahi Ka for the 1961 GBD pipe pictured below. Very generous. It’s a beautiful and well cleaned up. I like the small size quite a bit.
