Have a cigar, maduroman, it IS a Diplomat. I was wondering, myself. I picked it up on looks alone and didn't think to ask, just made sure it had the hardwood plug. I can surely see why the cobs are so popular, and why they dominated the $X thread. -

Made the trip to my Local yesterday (Smoky's in Montvue Center) and picked a new Missouri Meerschaum: So, I gave it a smoke yesterday with some 'gift' tobacco to burn out the stem, then yanked the filter. Filled it up this morning with some tasty Wife's Blend and smoked it after lunch today... -

I agree with the assessment of Smoky's - aside from the owner, they seem to be blase about pipe tobaccos. Sad, considering that they have, by default, the largest selection in the City.
