How to Store tobacco from a European tin?

I am guessing you are talking about the 100g tins where the tobacco is contain in a cellophane type package inside the tin. Tins like this one: When I buy something in those tins, I jar it within a week after I get it. The packaging is not vacuum sealed or airtight and can dry out pretty fast.

    Hello from Texas

Just where in Texas are you? I realize that people from Texas think that all they have to do is say, "I'm from Texas." and everyone will know exactly where they are from. However it is 858 miles from Orange to El Paso and it is only 829 miles from Perryton to Brownsville. There's a few climate...

Who Invited Francine For A Visit?

Meant to check back in yesterday. We saw a lot of mostly light rain and some gusty winds but nothing any stronger than a summer thunderstorm. If fact, I think I only heard thunder twice. No damage to the house (I just had the shingles replaced in April) and we didn't lose power.

    Hey There, From Texas

I know where Taylor Lake is! But if you're about 30 minutes SE of Houston than it's not during rush hour. I was born in Port Arthur and spent a good portion of my youth in the Golden Triangle area of Beaumont, Port Arthur and Orange. My three sisters in their families are still spread across...

Who Invited Francine For A Visit?

Good. If I'm looking at the NHC information correctly, you are going to get some heavy rain on your side of the storm. Being an old Cajun, I'm sure you are well prepared.

    SSJONES Life Update

You'll be fine once you skin toughens up. By the way, heavy rain will bring the ants to the surface also.

Who Invited Francine For A Visit?

Yeah! He left his wife behind to deal with the storm so he could "go north and work for a week." or some such excuse.

Who Invited Francine For A Visit?

As of the 10 AM CDT update from the National Hurricane Center, New Orleans is on the outer edge of the "cone" with the path aimed just to the east of Baton Rouge. I'm about another 30 miles east of New Orleans. I just want all of you guys living west of New Orleans going over towards Lafayette...

    SSJONES Life Update

I'll get with the pipe club and see what we can do. It would be helpful if you left your wife with plenty of beer, whiskey, wine and the keys to your tobacco cellar and pipes. Wait! You said "cleaned up" not "cleaned out."

Ever Have One Of Those Days?

Stuff happens in life and in pipe smoking. Just last week, I came home from a weekend trip to find my over-the-stove microwave stopped working. Went into do laundry and found that my dryer decided it wasn't going to work either (it wouldn't start and the drum wouldn't rotate.) Said screw it...
