Yes, smoking outdoors doesn't work for this style of lighter if there is any wind, pretty much a given. Xikar, is the same way and I have to stick to my zippo for outdoor lighting.- pylorns

Salt and Alcohol Treatment in a Peterson System
I've done salt/alcohol in the reservoir and the bowl and alcohol, worked like a champ. Just have to be extra careful not to get the alcohol on the bowl as per usual, but more so since you have more liquid in there.- pylorns
