    DOTTLE!

Also consider that often the amount of dottle left behind in a bowl has as much to do with the engineering of the pipe as it does with the methods of a smoker. A draft hole drilled too high, even by a millimeter will increase the likelihood of a larger dottle. This is bound to happen, even with...

    Newbie question number 10,346 3/4

Just make sure that the pipes aren't leaning for long periods of time. I've seen many a pipe that is bowed ever so as a consequence of leaning on a pipe rack for too long.

    The Brand New SmokingPipes.com Website

We knew there would be bugs to work out and are working out the issues as quickly as we can. We are noticing some site-to-site variability. Hope you'll bear with us! As far as the links on the homepage not corresponding to a pipe and instead the pipe's homepage, this is how our newsletter has...

Sweet. I mean, I don't know what the heck that means but it sounds valuable so I'll make sure Sykes gets that!

    The Brand New SmokingPipes.com Website

Just like it sounds. We're really excited about this; it's been in the work for months. The whole site is a lot cleaner looking, and the checkout feature is super efficient. Whaddaya think? http://smokingpipes.com/

    Different pipes for different smokes

I've only a few pipes that are 'catch all' for those moments of utter indifference. Otherwise I am pretty strict about English/Balkan/Latakia in certain pipes and Virginians in another. Certain pipes will only see really heavy English while others will only see heavy Perique. This is sounding...

What tobacco would you like to try that you have not got right now?

I really wish I had gotten around to picking up some Capstan before they pulled out of the U.S. I particularly would like to try their 'Blue'.

    Stem Oxidation

Maybe we could get flavored paint made, you know, to further complicate our hobby. The best would be unavailable for years at a time and there could be a billion different home spun techniques for applying it.

That Tokutomi pipe is in fact his Chanterelle. It was sold awhile back and is thus not found on the site. Here's an example of one similar:

Merger Creates Largest Pipe Tobacco Co. in the World

I suppose, then, that Peter Stokkebye would fall into this camp as they were already owned by Orlik.

    Captain Earle's: Stimulus Package

I think it was introduced at the Richmond show too. That's when I first tried it anyway. I just bought a tin and it's dated 09/29/10, so it's young stuff. Super heavy latakia in a 'krumble kake' similar to Pirate Kake. I think I like it, though.

    Captain Earle's: Stimulus Package

Sitting in the office smoking my first bowl of this stuff. Granted, it was packaged only a week ago but I think it's promising. Any thoughts? Anyone?

    Orlik Golden Sliced

Kevin! You should have said something when you were here! I have an opened 8 year old tin of Golden Slice sitting in my office that we could have smoked together!

    Hardcastle

Dunhill has owned the Hardcastle name since the late 40s. By the early 60s, Dunhill had merged Hardcastle and their 'second' brand Parker. By the 1980s, the entire Dunhill production was moved to the same location as the Parker-Hardcastle factory. The Hardcastle name is reserved to turned...
