    Questions...

Depending on how well your pipe is drilled you may have more dottle (unsmoked tobaco) sitting at the bottom of the bowl than desired. If you are constantly relighting your pipe to smoke the stuff I'd suggest not doing so in fear of over-heating your pipe. This could lead to premature burn-out...

    My Intro to English Blends

If you can't find Penzance grab a tin of Quiet Night's by Pease. They are very similar blends although Penzance comes in a flake presentation and Quiet Nights is a broken flake.

Possibly. We already offer our tobacco as cheap as possible in the first place. Definitely worth looking into.

    FAVORITE TOBACCO

I just called Brian Levine who is the U.S. contact for Brigham. He says we can expect the Brigham tobacco that's made by Altadis to show up stateside in the next six months. It will take longer for those blends made in Germany. Maybe next year.

English Blends and Latakia Blends - One in the Same?

I also tried posting on the article with no success. I make a distinction between an English blend and one with Latakia. I wouldn't class Mac Baren's Latakia Blend or McClelland's Samovar as English, for instance. There's a difference. However, I tend to think of an English blend as a loose...

    Keeping Track of the Goods

Yeah, the cellar I use can be modified to add new blends and blenders. Also, you can make it private. If you need a hard copy just print.

    Best Burley?

Fred, I just ordered some #333 from Peretti. How would you compare this to their PBC?

    Best Burley?

As tasty as some of the classics may be I still really prefer Mac Baren's Burley London Blend to most straight burleys. I also really love Gawith & Hoggarth's Conitson Cut Plug (Uncscented) for something with a nice floral treatment and Stonehaven for something dark. These two blends also...

Where are all the Peter Stokkebye blends?

Bob, very well said and quite informative. Thank you!

    Where do burnouts usually happen?

Unless the pipe has some real nasty pits close to the bowl, burning out a pipe isn't as easy as you might think if you take care of it properly. Like igloo said, some it slow and build some carbon base. And let your pipe dry out completely before you smoke it again while the it's this young.

How to sanitize a bowl without salt/alcohol treatment??

I suppose. I think I'd get mouth disease first.

How to sanitize a bowl without salt/alcohol treatment??

Plenty of guys fresh into the estate game are more than a little weary of the possible hygienic issues surrounding 'used' pipes. Just think of your pipe as a really dirty dish.
