Big Dollar Pipes vs Lower Priced Pipes

No worries, I didn't think you were considering Bones pipes as artisan. They definitely serve a purpose , you can beat the hell out of them and still get a decent smoke.

Do you prefer the 1st or 2nd half of bowl better?

I enjoy them equally. I smoke the first half which tastes great, Then around the half way point I will gently stir the ash, dump it, scrape the sides of the walls and re tamp and then finish the last half of the bowl. The lower I go the more intense the flavors get and I enjoy those just as well.

Wiping mouthpiece with wet wipes and sanitizer alcohol?

The only thing I put on my stems to clean them is Everclear. If I can't drink it it doesn't get on my pipe.

Breaking in an Uncoated New Pipe

I only like naked bowls and I always break them in with a Virginia flake of some kind. I get a nice hard cake fairly quickly using my system.. I fill it to the top and smoke to the bottom. Never had a burnout ever.

    Question about mixing tobaccos.

I leave the mixing to the pros and have never mixed blends. I am old and set in my ways so don't necessarily go by me.

    Hello from the Bluegrass Region

Welcome from Florida. I don't smoke any straight Burleys. I prefer Virginia/Burley/Kentucky blends. You night wan to try Mac Baren Old Dark Fired and Peterson Irish Flake., and Savinelli Doblone d 'orO which has a bit of Perique and Kentucky. It is a very interesting blend.

What is the best strike Matches you have found?

I once got a pack of Davidoff matches that were very good but had a stupid price. I could own a nice lighter and use good fuel for the price of those matches. I still with my IM Corona Pipemaster lighters with a the built in tamper and am quite happy. I bought Swan Vestas one time and...

What are You Watching? Year 2022

I have been watching a lot of World War II documentaries lately. American factories poured out equipment in staggering numbers. They built a factory Willow Run that was over a million sq ft and they were pimping out thousands of B 24's. They made 655,000 Wily's and Jeeps. Aircraft carriers...

    Pipe Tobacco business

I built my main pipe tobacco cellar in one year back in 2012-2013 for around 18K. I used to spend 20K plus per year smoking 6 or so Cuban and highline Fuente and Padron cigars a day .I have saved over 180,000.00 switching from cigars to pipes in the last decade if my math is correct.
