Questions - Staying Lit; Packing: Relighting; Ashy Taste

It was in this thread on the first page (although I'm just now realizing this was originally posted last month and I'm very late to the party 🤦‍♂️). Aside from that, I do see it brought up occasionally on e.g. reddit or other social media.

Questions - Staying Lit; Packing: Relighting; Ashy Taste

Lots of great advice in here, so I’ll just echo two quick things: 1) A “McDonalds milkshake” draw sounds way too tight to me, so if your pipes are going out often even while you’re actively smoking them, then I’d suggest experimenting with a looser pack. 2) The internet and its various pipe...

Yeah, they're not even listed on the site anymore, which I thought was weird.

What are You Watching? [2024] Please Rate 1-5

Been enjoying "The Leftovers". 2% of the world's population disappears (but only 2%!) and the rest are left to figure out what to do with themselves. 4/5.

    Calabashes

Are they still making these? I was looking for one a couple weeks back and couldn't even find a reference to them on the Briarworks site, much less an actual pipe for sale somewhere.

"Blind Buying" 16oz of GL Pease - Help me Pick which Blends!

Haddo's Delight is my favorite GLP blend that's currently in production. Ages beautifully, in case you want to have a few extra tins brought over, specifically to cellar-and-forget for the next decade or so... 😄

    Stoved Virginia Blends?

I've never heard of stoving tobacco at home but it's definitely an interesting proposition! Will look into it.

    Stoved Virginia Blends?

Oohh nice, I will add this one to the list to check out as well. Thanks!

    Mason Jar Lid Rusting

Yeah this would be my guess too. I immediately migrate opened tins to mason jars to keep them nice for long periods of time, and I've had quite a few of them develop rust spots over time due to bits of tobacco getting stuck in the lid.

    Stoved Virginia Blends?

Yeah, I know there’s no exact match (sadly) so I’m definitely looking for something that’s close-ish.

Nice, all three of these seem like they have potential. Thanks for the recommendations!

    Stoved Virginia Blends?

I’m finally running out of McClelland Blackwoods Flake and starting to search for a replacement blend. Is anyone currently producing blends with stoved Virginias? All I’m seeing are a couple Sutliff blending tobaccos.

    Greetings from San Diego!

Yes, historically you had to be a bit picky with Petersons if you wanted acrylic, as they only had a few lines that used it on the stems (e.g. Rosslare, Royal Irish, Flame Grain, etc). But lately it seems like they've started using acrylic more broadly, and these days you can get most of their...

Ha, yes, most people are either “vulcanite only” or “don’t mind one way or another”, so I’m a bit of an outlier!
