Recommended Cavendish for the New Guy

Lane Dark Red is a great Cavendish. McClelland Navy Cavendish is a great tasting tobacco that is more tobacco forward but be sure to watch a video or two on YouTube about prepping flakes.

    Obscure Burley or Virginia flakes

Not obscure but Petersons Irish Flake and University Flake are great Burley/VA flakes. Also Lux Bullseye Flake. Again not too obscure.

    The Metal Mixtures

Just had some Trafalgar and it was a great blend. The latakia is there but truly in the background and plays an almost floral/oriental role in the blend. The perique is at a nice level and brings a tiny bit of spice to the blend. The Burley plays nice and has a little nuttiness to it. This could...

American Made Plugs Versus UK Made Plugs.

Peterson's 3p seams to me to be a very hard plug of full leaf. Jay, where would place this in terms of American or EU. Certainly I know where it is produced but where does it sit in your thinking.

Does Every Corn Cob Pipe Smoke Good?

All of my Cobs smoke great. When the Cobbits were released I purchased a Wizard. When I got it it tasted like lacquer the first time I smoked it l. I emailed MM and they sent me a new one instantly. New one smokes great!

    Some Laughs at My Expense

I'm a hunter and have enjoyed doing so for a long time. Long enough that I know that a properly packed bag is worth its weight. So sitting in the stand on a picturesque fall morning, the rut is on and my chances for harvesting a deer were looking pretty good. Being that I have tags for both doe...
