When GH moved from Lowther Street to the current premises some of the machinery moved, but some of it is still in the old factory. When SG was bought by GH again some machinery moved, but the old mill machinery was I believe sold to a collector or museum in Holland but nobody seems to know much...- gawithhoggarth

True but then the dates are a bit misleading as in 1792 it was technically Harrison & Brocklebank and there was no [Samuel] Gawith involved until around 1841 when he married into the family. Brown Sugar made for Sutliff, originally done for the DanishPipeShop. IF SG did use to make these under agreement with a particular tobacconist........ and they are not just blends made by the tobacconist and sold under our 'banner'. These may have been made especially for Synjeco before we took over Samuel Gawith and maybe continued for a short while afterwards but we do not currently do (with maybe one exception) specialist blends for tobacconists as we simply do not have the capacity to do this and it is not cost...- gawithhoggarth

I am well aware of what Synjeco list as they are a customer of ours. We do not make a Holker twist specifically for a tobacconist. It may have been made in the past under some former agreement with old management but is not made any more.- gawithhoggarth

We do not produce a twist called Holker. I am aware there are various tobaccos and blends being sold under our 'name' and in our packaging but these are not being made by us under this as advertised. Tins were used so people could easily carry around their tobacco and slip the tin into their pocket or whatever and it stayed relatively fresh from production to smoking. Absolutely. Used to be one blend that had cocaine in it.....not allowed to do that anyone LOL. Now with all the health and safety and as pretty much everything that is added has to be food grade safe, I suggest it's far less dangerous in terms of additives and chemicals than it used to be. Sure if don't mind it going moldy or the opposite and being completely dried out by time it reaches you ;) Solution would be to buy directly and local and smoke straight away (or grow your own and make) - similar with say bread and not adding preservatives and many other food products.- gawithhoggarth
