Janneman is an excellent bright VA flake. If I had to compare it to something mainstream I’d say it’s most similar to Reiner Long Golden Flake or OGS. Ages superbly.- alaskanpiper

Different Break In Methods
Load as normal, smoke as normal, never had an issue. As Mark said though, I do use VA blends to break in almost everything for multiple reasons. First and foremost, I like them best. Secondly, they burn easy, warm, and even and seem to develop a cake well. And thirdly, they won't ghost, so...- alaskanpiper

@didimauw for one 😂 Cake is a whole other can of worms debate-wise. Personally, I feel as though my pipes smoke a little better with a mm or so of cake built up, so I keep them reamed to damn near briar but not quite. I just create carnauba dust with an old cheese grater. Apply it with a toothbrush, the hit it with the heat gun. Gotta be careful you don’t hit the stem with that gun though.
