Interesting Completed eBay Auctions - American Pipes

I bid on that pipe, and would have gone my limit if I hadn't already bought two PBLs this week. Did you get it, Briarlee?

What Pen are You Using Today?

Mine is the black Grafton by Everyman. Solid, and uses a Pilot G2 insert, which I love. I have a half-dozen Parker Jotters, but always come back to this one.

    Leaky Zippo Can

I love my Zippo insert, except for the enormous and un-adjustable flame. Lights every time, no pocket leaks, no foul taste. It's a trade-off.

Who Has a Job He Actually Loves?

I work for local government, so the pay and the bennies are all there. The job can be frustrating and boring. It certainly isn't what I trained for. I have really enjoyed reading this thread, what people do and what they feel the shoulda done, if only. If I had my way, I would have studied...

    The Prettiest Pipe I Own

Just lovely. I hope it's a fine smoker!

Same Blend Sold under Different Names.

I used to really enjoy a Sutliff blend called Charlemagne, but the canned stuff is discontinued. Is there a bulk equivalent? Queen Anne's Revemge is close, but not quite there.

Prince Albert Money Back Free Trial

There are some who do not care for PA. Bless their shriveled little souls, they probably are the same people who dislike puppies and air conditioning and Cadillacs. And Johnny Cash. But fifteen cents was a big deal, in those days when dimes were silver.

A New Shape... The Bent Canadian

Yeah, I'm gonna smoke it anyway. ;) I'm still wondering if this pipe is somehow related to GBD, or if the maker just appropriated the shape and number. It's an interesting curiosity... and the amount of wear signals that it's probably a good smoker.

A New Shape... The Bent Canadian

Agreed, the two on the right are showing signs of a bend. I wonder if this is a Canadian problem? My other 263 is as straight as... well, it shows no sign of a bend.

A New Shape... The Bent Canadian

Well, even if it ain't from Saint-Claude in Manitoba, I'm going to say it is!

A New Shape... The Bent Canadian

If it had bent the other way, it woulda been a Baby Churchwarden. I'm just glad it warped into a nice shape.

A New Shape... The Bent Canadian

Introducing a new take on a old classic! This Canadian is bent. Sitting on a level surface, the end of the shank is a good half-inch off level. So, is it made that way, or pipe abuse? Are pipes susceptible to Peyronie's Disease? The pipe is called a 'Manitoban': That's the only...

    Playing With Different Stem Length

I like this. It does remind me of a Bing Crosby pipe. Happy experimenting!

Why Aren’t There More Old Petersons?

I have noted the same thing. I have had an eye out for a well-aged 999 for years, but they seem to hold their value well.

Show Off Your Algerian Briar Pipes

These two were easy to find: Top pipe is a "Lord Clerit", if my eyes can properly read the script. Under that is a "Royal Ascot Deluxe". So simiar, they may have been made in the same factory... right down to the same font on the "Algerian Briar" stamping.

    New County

When I was in the radio business, back in '80s, "Country Rap" was a punchline. Now, it's mainstream.

Thank you, all of you. My heart is full. As always, the good wishes of good people can do so, so much. Just thank you.

    Your Prayers Are Appreciated

Friends: Ol' Cynyr has been having a tough time at home for about a year... and stress at work has reached a crescendo over the past six weeks. Without going into a lot of detail, I am feeling very inadequate to the tasks laid on me. I have repeatedly been blessed by the kindness shown by the...
