Draw Frequency and Should I Puff Like Cigars?

There is already some good advice here for you. I see you are in Brazil. If you are buying your tobacco at the Recife Antigo market, it may be a chocolate flavoured tobacco that is actually pure nicotiana rustica, which happens to be the strongest nicotine laden tobacco in the world. This may...

    Need Ideas and Advice

That pipe has seen better days for sure. I would contact a reputable repair person like Mr. Laug at rebornpipes.com to find out if it’s salvageable. He’s in Canada but your profile doesn’t show your location. Maybe choose one nearest to you.

    My First Artisan Pipe

Very nice! I look forward to hearing your thoughts on your new artisan pipe compared to your others.

    Praise for the EZ Reach

I have one and it works fine. The regular Bic is my preference.

***What Are You Smoking, October 2024?***

Thank you, Jim. I don’t have much knowledge of how the blending processes work other than what I have read on here or heard Brian Levine and his guests talk about on the radio show. It is a dream of mine to take a tour of the C&D factory some day.

***What Are You Smoking, October 2024?***

I haven’t had the tinned version in over a year. I’ve been buying bulk and it’s been ok. Maybe I should get a tin now to compare side by side. I did find a piece of shredded material in the bulk that wasn’t tobacco once, so I wonder if their bulk runs are done with less attention to detail or...

Those are a couple of my favourite blends. Maybe it isn’t worth it to cellar them?

    School Me On Meerschaum

There is some good advice here already. I suggest watching Bremen Pipe Smoker‘s video about meerschaum on YouTube. It helped me a lot to hear what he has to say about meerschaum before I owned one.

2023 From Beyond in a S. Yanik meerschaum pot and black coffee.

***What Are You Smoking, October 2024?***

From Beyond 2023 in the same bent Dublin lattice meerschaum carved by Tekin from earlier today.

***What Are You Smoking, October 2024?***

First bowl of the month is the last of a tin of Peterson Nightcap from November 2023 in a Tekin meerschaum. I seem to have my taste back for English blends since not enjoying them as much after I first got COVID a couple years ago.

    Seriously? Rustication Gone Awry?

At this very moment I am smoking this Vauen Nest so I can’t say I oppose that kind of rustication. I think back in the day the Germans sent someone over to the master Custombilt rusticator in the USA to learn their techniques for their Nest line.

    Enlarging an Out-of-Round Chamber

Here are two estate pipes from a similar era. A Vauen Dr. Perl 3288 is on the left and a Vauen Luxus 3284 on the right. The model number is very close as are the dimensions of these pipes. The 3284 has a shorter bowl height than the 3288. The 3288 arrived in a barely smoked and nearly new...

    Old Joe Krantz first impressions

The dark fired Kentucky must be a nice component different from OJK. I’ve still never tried a Pease blend so maybe this will be the first one. @makhorkasmoker Yes! Big ‘n Burley is an excellent blend. I love the white burley in that blend.
