Your Best Cheap Pipe; Here's Mine; Let's See Yours!

My trusty Daytonian…. Got it an an auction lot, so it cost about a dollar…. I took to it because I’m a NASCAR fan…… Great smoker…. Beautiful burl…. Keeps getting darker and better tasting each smoke…..

Questions - Staying Lit; Packing: Relighting; Ashy Taste

Don’t know if it’s right or wrong, but at about the 2/3rds mark, sometimes I get a loose white ash on top of everything. I simply turn the pipe over and let it fall out and then tamp lightly before a relight…. Don’t knock it…. Just let it fall naturally….. then do a very light tamp and relight.

Or trying brown CA and getting her back to as close to original...

Thanks for the input. I’ll research on re-bending that stem. (And maybe taking some of those tooth marks out!)

    Chesterfield CPF

This came in a small lot I bought. Haven’t done much with it. I did a little research and figured it’s old-from the KB&B and the CPF … not to mention the odd stem. Just cleaned it up and applied a mixture of beeswax and carnauba. I’m such a newbie, I’m afraid to try anything with this one….

New Member from the Texas Hill Country…

Just found the site! Great info here! Lots to learn….Have had a Dr. Grabow and several Comoy’s since the mid 90’s. About to retire and decided to start a new hobby of restoring and collection estate pipes and gifting them to friends.
