    Contact Information for Mimmo Provenzano?

That would not work in this case. When briar shanks break they must be glued together first, then drilled to the SS tubes OD, and the tube glued/inserted. Drilling both pieces first, inserting the tube "plug style" and then gluing, will never line up. The reason being that drill bits...

    What are You Reading Now?

What am I reading? Same as always. I jump back and forth between scientific papers like... "Nanocavity-Mediated Purcell Enhancement of Er in TiO2 Thin Films Grown via Atomic Layer Deposition," or "Electrically Tunable Exciton−Plasmon Coupling in a WSe2 Monolayer Embedded in a Plasmonic...

I Hope You Don't Mind If I Gripe

10-4 on west or south of AZ altogether. I was wondering what size town you might be thinking about in another state.

    Patent Dunhill Extra Shape Number?

Most likely a distribution number of some kind. "Extraneous" stamps are not common with Dunhills, but they aren't rare, either. The ones that have been tracked down over the years usually boil down to being part of a lot or shipment for a particular wholesaler.

Frog Morton's Cellar and C&D Star of the East Flake

I found a sealed, undamaged, 50 gram tin of each in a box while looking for something else. The FM is from Jan 2012, and the C&D from Nov of 2006. The C&D tin is also significantly---but not overly---bulged. Don't know anything about either, especially given the massive sea change regarding...

    Big Swan Neck Billiard Fixation

Here are five of the 120's, and the Sasieni (couldn't find the links to the other two) https://pipesmagazine.com/forums/threads/dunhill-shape-120-redbark-factory-error.60632/ https://pipesmagazine.com/forums/threads/1924-dunhill-bruyere-shape-120.60772/...

    Big Swan Neck Billiard Fixation

I have a 7-day set of 120's that range from 1924 to the 1970's, and covers all the finishes that were available during that time. Also have a Sasieni VL from the early 1930's. Wonderful pipes one and all. Recommended. My favorite of the bunch is the Sasieni, though. 😍 Fantastic...

What is the Most Muscular Straight Burley Sold Today?

Allrighty then... Many thanks for the recommendations, Boardcrew. I'll be ordering & test driving a number of them shortly. :) :) :) PS --- The intended-for-blending stuff Mr. Greeneyes mentioned is indeed what got me started on straight Burley. Try it if you get the chance. PPS ---...

What is the Most Muscular Straight Burley Sold Today?

Title edited to perfection. Original: What is the Most Muscular Straight (or very nearly straight) Burley Sold Today? Something that is currently in production and currently available. Old versions/recipes, tin age changes, and all that are fun to discuss, but not useful in this case. I just...

    My New Whippet Arrived Today!

Of course. [insert "duh!" emoticon] Looks like I need a bullwhip to complete things. ;) (I actually never gave the slightest thought to the movie when I got the jacket or the hat. They were just eminently practical for what I was doing at the time, which was running a live-load flatbed to...

    My New Whippet Arrived Today!

I've had one of those for 25 years. Same color, even. Never knew they were called whippets, though. FYI when wearing it out and about together with a horsehide jacket: You'll get called Indiana Jones now and again. lol (Even got a free drink a couple times... once from another Indy hat...

    Bottomless Oxidation on Vulcanite?

It's impossible to transform a cheap pine board into furniture-grade mahogany with lotions, treatments, scraping, sanding, heating, or cooling. Ditto rubber pipe stems. Anyone who wants to be a pipe flipper or hobby restorer must understand that cost accountants are the TRUE overlords of...

    When I Was In NYC.

That's like saying while your chance of dying from an auto crash is 45 times higher than an airplane crash, cars are safer because a higher percentage of the passengers aboard an airplane are killed when it crashes. "Emotional Logic" strikes again... rotf
