Missing Chimney On Vintage Peterson DeLuxe

This is the best I’ve got at the moment. Is that clear enough?

Missing Chimney On Vintage Peterson DeLuxe

Strangely enough it is the same length as a stem with a detachable chimney, just unthreaded.

Missing Chimney On Vintage Peterson DeLuxe

Okay, I’ll sit on it for a bit. If I decide to do that I’ll start a PM chat with you. Thank you again for all your help!

Missing Chimney On Vintage Peterson DeLuxe

I’m sorry, what do you mean by “turn a chimney”?

Missing Chimney On Vintage Peterson DeLuxe

Dang, better luck next time. Looks like I’m going to get a new stem, or get this one tapped. Whichever is cheapest. Thank you much for your help!

Missing Chimney On Vintage Peterson DeLuxe

Does the lack of condenser translate to some sort of rarity or value,? similar to the way a double stamped coin or something of the like is? Because if so, I guess I should probably leave it as is.

Missing Chimney On Vintage Peterson DeLuxe

Okay, thank you. I think I misunderstood an article I’d read. Peterson said they’d make me a new stem with a condenser for $40. It’s a bit of a shame that I can’t have the full deluxe rig and keep the original pipe together. Thank you again for your help though!

Missing Chimney On Vintage Peterson DeLuxe

Ah, i should have specified in the original post. Peterson has gone through multiple iterations of their condensers. The model sold on SmokingPipes is the newest aluminum screw on version. The pipe I have needs a condenser of a different gauge and no threads.

Missing Chimney On Vintage Peterson DeLuxe

Hi, I own a late 80s(I think) system deluxe everything about it is great, but the condenser/tenon-extension is missing. I’d really like to get it back to its original state. Peterson said that the best they could do is make a new stem. And I haven’t found anywhere else that sells them. Any help...

    Difference of Peterson System Models.

From my understanding, there are at least three options including, the steel band, the sterling band, and the DeLuxe. The deLuxe looks visibly different with the different stem and all. But I am specifically looking at the other two. I don’t know if there is any way of telling them apart...

    Difference of Peterson System Models.

Are there any notable differences between a system with a silver band, and a system with a steel band?

Yeah, from what I’ve heard Carbondale was crazy then.

SIU is probably the only reason anyone new ends up around here. Haha

    Hello, from Southern Illinois!

I can see wisdom in that. I was immediately overwhelmed by every choice imaginable. Luckily I quite quickly found a local(ish) B&M blend that I enjoy. My problem is, I have no idea whether or not it is an aromatic or what style blend it is(though for some reason I only now came to the idea of...

    Hello, from Southern Illinois!

I’m in a little town around Carbondale. About an hour north of Cairo. You can always find an outsider if they pronounce it as Cairo instead of Kay-ro; or Ill-inois instead of El-inoi.

    Hello, from Southern Illinois!

I’ve just started smoking a pipe last year. Still trying to figure out my likes and dislikes. Looking forward to gleaning all the wisdom I can from the seasoned pipe smokers here.
