Definitely sounds just like Smokingpipes.com to me 🙂. Best in the business, in my experience.

New Mac Baren HH Tobacco Coming (2020)

I would love a VaPer Flake! Acadian Perique is certainly good, but I don’t go to it to satisfy a VaPer craving. Fingers crossed!

New Mac Baren HH Tobacco Coming (2020)

Hello fellows! Per Georg Jensen posted a video to Instagram yesterday in which he stated there is a new tobacco coming to the HH line. He intentionally left the sound off of the video so as to keep things secret. I have no inside information or hints as to what it could be, but just thought...

    Savinelli Issue

I’ve run into this issue with some of my own pipes before, post-cleaning. One or two smokes through them and they tightened back up. If you feel like it, give it the swab and see what happens. If you’re not satisfied and don’t want to bother, I think you can push for a return. A new pipe should...

    Currently Smoking My First Lakeland

This is fascinating to me! BB#2...I didn’t even know there was supposed to be ANY Lakeland stuff in there. I don’t like it because I find it boring...whereas Ennerdale is a scented explosion! Just goes to show how varied all of our preferences are. Fun!

Looking at My First Dunhill and a Scale Question

They still do make ODAs, too, but all of the paneled billiards that are larger pre-1970s will be ODA stamped. I think the EK only comes in a Group 4 size, which is a medium sized pipe.

Looking at My First Dunhill and a Scale Question

Pipedia is amazing, but a little overwhelming for a new person. You’ll pick up a lot of learning by just browsing. Of course, you can always ask questions here, too! Newer Dunhills in the shape and size you want will be labeled 5124 or 6124. Older ones will be ODA 836. ODAs are more uncommon.

Dunhill Nomenclature (Numbers Added to Patent No.?)

Unsmoked and with vulcanite! Perhaps the information about the majority of them made with horn stems is a bit of an exaggeration?

Dunhill Nomenclature (Numbers Added to Patent No.?)

Well, thanks for nothing, Yang! 😁 Only kidding! That’s a lot of great information. Looks like Alaskanpiper and I still have a mystery on our hands!

Looking at My First Dunhill and a Scale Question

Do you mean a Group 6 EK, or a Shape 6EK? If it’s a Group 6, it’s the largest Dunhill makes, outside of the ODA Series. If it’s only the shape, that means it’s a panel billiard with a saddle stem, and made before the mid-70s. That one could be smaller. If you’re looking for a large panel...

Dunhill Shape 24 Dating and Twin Bore Stem Question

Yes, the rim has been sanded, most likely to tidy up knocking damage, or get rid of carbon buildup, or even maybe because someone thought it would look better that way :) . FE is indeed the shape designation. On early Dunhills, the pipes were also stamped with an inner tube size number. I’m...

Dunhill Nomenclature (Numbers Added to Patent No.?)

My treasured Codeless WWII LB. Big fat monster of a pipe with spectacular grain. Second from the bottom in the above shot. It dwarfs the others! Impressive to see that Dunhill was still able to put out amazing pieces like that during such a difficult time!
