Yes that is ebonite, stem by Ryan Alden. The pipe is an IMP. Ryan reshaped the shank, widened drilling to 5/32", and hand cut the stem. It has become a fantastic pipe. I've said it before, but there is a Market for Meerschaum pipes with handcut ebonite stems. No one seems to be willing to do it...

Found a forgotten tin of Savinelli Janus I opened a year ago. Held up well. Good, funky smoke. Reminds me of Sutliff Uno:

Meers are great. They've steered me away from briar (mostly).

The idea of cremation isn't for me. I've instructed my family to bury me in a thin, wooden coffin with holes. I like the idea of my remains being eaten by insects. Feeding the ecosystem. Providing sustenance in the afterlife.
