A Gert Holbek Polonius Landed

Landed a white whale yesterday - a Gert Holbek Polonius

I reached out to a collector of Danish pipes - Pibe Dan and Gert Holbek in particular. He very generously agreed to sell me one of his 9 (yes, nine) Gert Holbek Poloniuses. He has the most enviable collection of Gert Holbeks - at least one of every shape Holbek produced.

What was very impressive to me was a photo showing his line-up of the Poloniuses. None were identical, each one an individual.

Group of Holbek Poloniuses ?? Polonii ?? He "forgot" a couple of others that he had - they we're left out of the photo accidentally.
Mine is the 2nd from the right.
The sandblast is a beauty. The one on the right is more of an egg/brandy, but Holbek calls it a Polonius as well. beauty

Holbek and Sven Knudsen are exceptions to the rule.

OK fine, here's mine. An ebay score for $123. Black Sandblasted Polonius. I'm pretty sure it has a replacement stem though. Smokes like a dream.
