I'm kind of a beginner. And I have 3 blends at hand: (My favorite) Old dublin, Rattray's 7 reserve (which I have not smoked more than once) and Old Gowrie.

I'm not really feeling for a VA right now, but I can't decide between OD or 7R.

Help :)

Smoke the Old Dublin, fling the 7 reserve, save the Old Gowrie for a later stage, and have a look for some plain ribbon cut Virginias, which I think would be more suitable for someone starting out, and for that matter, even someone with years of experience.
Best of luck.

I'd go with the other one. Save the favorite. Personally I go slowest on the favorites. I want to really really enjoy them when I do.
I took the Old Dublin, but in the future, I'll probably save my favorite for my special alone time. I really need to try the 7 reserve though, the last time it tasted quite similar to Old Dublin but hopefully, my tastes have developed.

I smoke my favorite. It's a favorite for a reason, enjoy it. Then also toss in others, that are just as good.
Life's to short to skip a favorite..
