This Boswell’s spiral freehand from February, 2015. Still have/smoke it, in spite of a break from pipes that lasted from about February, 2015 until March, 2020. To be fair, I never really knew what I was doing when I got it - I bought it for an Appalachian Trail hike that saw me too tired/apathetic to smoke it on most days. What I wouldn’t do to have the opportunity to get on that trail again after a more committed venture into pipe tobacco a year ago.

My first pipe was a Savinelli Linea Pui 5 with a silver band. THe retail was 155.00 but since I was at my buddies shop he gave me 20% off.
It was a great pipe as it smoked cool and dry and it gave me a baseline of how a good pipe should smoke like. My next pipe was a was a Jensen which was a piece of shit. It smoked hotter than the lower depths of hell. I threw it away as it only cost 95.00. My third pipe incredible. It was a Winslow hand made grade C. It retailed for over 500.00 and my buddy who's shop it was in gave me my 20% discount. I loved that pipe but eventually sold it 15 years or so later when I went to all ebonite stems.
