I think it is warm by US standards but not room temp. I like tullamore, nice soft whiskey. They have a new bottling which was aged in rum casks that looks good for summer. However, i was vey impressed recently by Jameson black label. A bit more expensive than regular or cask and much less than the higher end lines. Very good whisket that.
Sadly, people in pubs frequently drink Budweiser as much as they drink guiness. A pour of guiness, however, in a nice pub in the old country is a thing of beauty and an experience to savor.
All mileage varies as the wise man says, but how I do...high-to-low ($ wise).
Kilbeggan is a finely crafted Irish Whiskey. That is under rated and very affordable.
I drink mine room temperature, neat. Regular Jameson is all I can afford on a regular basis. I've come to enjoy it more than Scotch.
I can only indulge/afford one vice. Bulk tobacco wins!
I second the Redbreast. Jameson 12 is good too. Milk chocolate sweetness. Both are worth the price of admission.

Another vote for Redbreast 12. Subtle, complex, with lovely notes of dill, linseed, sherry... and then the texture is sort of velvety and rich but not heavy.
And I second Guinness Foreign Extra, too. A great imperial (republican?) stout which punches way above its ABV.

I liked Guiness on draft at Irish pubs best. Bottled in the U.S. is tasty, but a disappointment by comparison. The etiquette in an Irish pub is to wait patiently while they draw it correctly, leaving a substantial head but still filling the glass. It's poor form to complain. Patience is a virtue. And the wait was worth it to me. Most pubs had some snacks to nibble, or a meal for a reasonable price.
Have you tried Smithwick's? I agree with the Guinness assessment, but I really like Smithwick's over Harp. Our local Irish Pub does a great "BlackSmith" -Guinness floated over Smithwicks. May be the perfect pint.

I recommend them all! My current line up but this is seldom static excluding the Green Spot, some form of Jameson and Redbreast.
