Two new horizons, my first briar pipe, a A. Curtz Billiard, and first Cavendish blend Boswell's Best, both thanks to peteguy. Paired with a Lapsang Souchong heavy Russian Caravan tea blend. Lovely combination for a leisurely afternoon.
I found Wilke's Cherry Cavendish so pleasant last night, I had another bowlful, in the same Volkan pipe. Looks like I've found a simple, nicely-smoking aromatic I can live with!

Interesting mixture of Warrior Plug and Black Twist. I tried this one with Mick McQuaid and Black Twist and it really is the pipe world equivalent of a Black & Tan (Guinness and Bitter mixed in equal parts) It takes a little effort to get this stuff to start burning evenly but once its going it makes for a very enjoyable smoke. The moisture level is perfect if you are on a mission to color out an older meerschaum, the bonus feature is a slow cool burn so no tongue bite. Anyway I am off to hit the sack and commune with my own best company. Good night all. Keep healthy and avoid the miasma's inherent in night air.
