There are plenty of Pipe Tobacco Blends out there and many different types of blends are coming up every now and then. But certain blends when smoked became the part of daily lives of many designated pipe smokers here. What are those blends which you'll all recommend to smoke to a beginner or a potential pipe smokers atleast once in their lives!?

I can list my favorites... most of which are readily available

1. Reiner Gold Blend No 71 - Virginia/ Perique with a hint of White Burley
2. HU Director’s Cut - Virginia / Perique / Kentucky
3. Smokers Haven Our Best Blend - Balkan (Latakia, Oriental, Virginia)
4. Dunhill Nightcap/Peterson Nightcap - English(Latakia, Oriental, Virginia/Perique)
5. Hearth and Home Blackhouse (Balkan style with Dark Fired Kentucky)
6. Gawith Hoggarth & Co - Dark Flake (Virginia/Dark fired leaves) - Although I smoked only the unscented version, believe the scented version would be better
7. Tabac Vincent Manil Semois- A unique burley varietal
8. C&D Old Joe Krantz - Old fashioned burley based blend
9. War Horse Bar - A Very unique take on a aromatic
10. Twist Tobacco- I have tasted Samuel Gawith Black XX Twist so far and it is unique
11. Lakelands - A good intro would be Gawith Hoggarth & Co - Coniston Cut Plug
12. Pure Virginia- Not much experience but C&D Small Batch Carolina Red Flake was superb, though no longer generally available

peregrinus, I heard Samuel Gawith and Gawith Hoggarth are from same house.. is that correct!?

Thank you for your kind recommendations..

Yes, as @alaskanpiper confirmed, since 2015.
I am currently smoking SG 2012 products (St. James and Full Virginia Flakes) so I can’t personally testify if the merger had any effect on SG end products.
