***What Are You Smoking, December 2025?***

Rolled my own Star of The East Flake cigarette. No filter of course. Splendid smoke, not as a good as a pipe but a fine cigarette. Inhaled as a test, not a fan of the inhaled flavor but nowhere near as unpleasant than a manufacturered cigarette. No roughness either. Now smoking the same blend...

    SG Drop

I was a split second too late to get a tin of best brown. Walked away with Full Virginia, Bothy, and Squadron Leader.

    Your Smoking Area

Garage with a cheap folding chair and a cooler as a table. Upgrading with a space heater and a cheap outdoor recliner. The garage door cracked open after my smoke is the air filter. Bucket is the ashtray.

Corona Old Boy - Are They Worth It?

Just dropped my oldboy again on hard pavement from my truck bed. About 7ft total in fall distance. Still works. (I need to degrease my fingers for sure). Oh and the pipe tool doubles as a snuff spoon.

    New Samuel Gawith tins

I was surprised. Tin wide open to the world, but goopy wet flakes that crumbled like play-doh. Must be mostly humectant! Pleasant blend still.

Neat Way To Hold Your Pipe While Driving

Glad I read this post. This looks like exactly what I need.

    Ok You Smoke A Pipe

Too much work. Too many chores. Too many blends. Not enough time.

    New Samuel Gawith tins

I had a polar opposite experience. I recently opened Ennerdale, 1792, and Navy flake. All 3 of them very recently shipped from Gawith to Smokingpipes. Huge pain in the rear to open. I've cracked Gawith tins in the past easily with a coin/key. Lifting at the divot in the corner hearing the vacuum...

    Best affordable pipes?

I enjoy my Ropp. Incredible value for good briar with history behind it.

***What Are You Smoking, September 2025?***

Carolina Red Flake W/Perique 2025 in my trusty Ashton Brindle 221 XX. Until now I could not grasp most tobaccos outside the Balkan/English realm. I get it now. Holy smoke I'm enjoying this. Packed loosely and rubbed slightly. The perique on the retrohale is splendid.

How're These Tins Workin' Out for Ya'?

Is there a difference in aging tobacco jarred or sealed? For example, if I have a freshly sealed and sold tin of VA/VAPER, will storing it tinned produce a noticeable difference from jarring it upon delivery? Thanks for the insight.

    Issue Smoking Flakes

I prepared a bowl of SG Ennerdale like a GL Pease flake which I find dryer than most brands regardless of the blend/cut. Big mistake, it was goopy. I then cut it up with scissors prior to rubbing it out. Big mistake, burned like a loony tunes gunpowder trail.

    Proposed UK tobacco ban

I am fully convinced that tobacco as a plant and cured product, and by this I mean without habitual inhaling, without reclaim in cigarettes, radioactive fertilizers, is as harmful as drinking beer or coffee. I also believe that the world governments see it convenient for them to have people...
