    Royal Yacht Buzz

On the fence then, a barbed wire fence? Strength of RY is overblown if you ask me, the overly sweet topping is the culprit.

To Clay or not to Clay....

What good will that do? They stopped selling them 40 odd years ago! My old man used to buy them from a tobacconist in Llandrindod Wells, 6 at a time! This was in the 60's & they cost literally next to nothing! A clay today with a nickel ferrule and vulcanite stem, would set you back...

Premier League, Championship League, League One, etc.

Any Chelsea supporters on the forum, no? Didn't think so, like policeman, never around when you want one. Just in case there's any of the lairy boot boys lurking, the score was: Arsenal 5 Chelsea 0.......lovely! 🙂 Jason cundy won't have so much to say on tonight's talk sport! Lol Love it...

Anybody think that Coventry were robbed by the VAR clowns? I do.

My Recent Trip to Latvia and Smoking.

Never seen anything from Latvia before so thanks for showing us your photos. I believe Russia has or had quite a healthy selection of pipe tobacco available. Wether you'd be able to access it or not, I don't know. Best of luck to you and your wife on the move! 👍

    A Match for Capstan Blue?

Ah yes, I should've remembered you mentioning that before. Apparently, they did make a good go of the Capstan Full, but they only produced it for a short while before delisting it.

What Are You Drinking? April 2024

I could just go a cheese and pickle sandwich. No cider tonight as it's cold and wet. Back on the beer with a pint of 'Old Hooky'.

    Opening A Tin? Show Us!

He is that, bless him! 👍 We might not have the best cricketers anymore but we certainly have the best commentators..... always have had! Johnners, Blowers, Aggers etc. Other sports were the same, maclaren (union) waring (league) motson etc. Either all died off or been replaced by the current...

    A Match for Capstan Blue?

You referring to 'Kriswill Blue?' That contains a small percentage of perique & is nothing like the original Wills's Capstan. (imo). I saw that macbarens make a bespoke blend for a German tobacconist, they were given an old cutter top tin and asked to match it, that one's called'...

    Opening A Tin? Show Us!

Oh my dear old thing. Sweet of you to say so! lol (blowers reference there, which you’ll get if you follow English cricket). Like @jaingorenard i too, thoroughly enjoyed the day! Snuff was sniffed, bowls were smoked, pipes both old & new were fondled & admired. Foaming pints of English bitter...

    Show us your Ugliest Pipes!

I can't post a photo of an ugly pipe, as I don't own any. I have in the past though. Cobs! Ghastly things..... They really are.

***What Are You Smoking, April 2024?***

St. Bruno, Peterson, Cider and Sunshine, what's not to like! Got offered this pipe only yesterday, from @jaingorenard . Despite a recent 'downsize' his gracious offer of a new pipe was hastily and gratefully received. Cheers Joe! 👍

What Are You Drinking? April 2024

8.4%? Probably down to the fact that I've been brought up on lower 'abv' beers, but I always find the higher percentage ruins the taste of the beer for me. Belgian beers are the same, despite being some of the world's most respected beers, one or two is enough for me. Too rich.

What Are You Drinking? April 2024

Never come across that one. Better than the Famous Grouse would you say? £27 to me for a blended whisky, needs to be better than the Grouse, otherwise I don't bother.
