I don't get it
I started off exclusively with English blends and also initially felt that VA's lacked... something. Now I've reversed completely, and although I'll smoke and enjoy almost anything (except 1792 and Condor) I'm firmly in the VA and VAPer camps. +2 for Orlik's Golden Sliced BTW.- ruraldean

Finally Bought a Cobwarden
I have one and one only. I bought it several years into pipe smoking as I'd never seen the point and thought they were a bit "Mickey Mouse". Of course, I'd ignored countless threads like this telling me different. After 7 years I'm still occasionally smoking the same cob, and can't for the life... -

Salt & alcohol treatment, really?
I've used salt and alcohol many times on estates and it works perfectly. I keep a bottle of cheap brandy for the purpose and fall in love with a pipe I've cleaned this way.- ruraldean

I recently gave up roll-ups and started vaping. I also went 3 weeks without a pipe and have cut down to possibly less that a bowl a day. The difference is amazing - I really appreciate a quiet, thoughtful bowl now, where I had been a continuous pipe smoker, existing in a permanent haze of smoke...- ruraldean
