they are quite a different texture.... now that you mention it I probably wont be able to stop thinking about it! with MM's you can get new stems (im sure you were aware) and they are like $0.50. maybe I will swap out a stem if my stems turn to mush!- poppabear

How Much Is to Much?
I also tend to clench quite a bit. that's why my big dutch briers don't see too much action unless I am feeling frisky. But the money I'm willing to spend is not a new pipe at the moment so a $5 cob is excellent for me and the way I tend to smoke.- poppabear

Wet Tobacco Packed Pipe
So I dried out some Mountain Camp over night for this mornings bowl and it was DRY. Almost to the point of crumbling. It was rough the first half of the bowl. Like a stale old cig!
