A fab of clear nail polish seems like it would do the trick. I'd invest in a nicer pipe before I got a new stem in all honesty, if it was cheap you're looking at paying the same price you paid for the pipe just to get a replacement stem. Someone else will probably have more sound advice though...- kyletheaviator

I feel like 90% of all advice I give is ended with those exact words! I don't smoke in my car sadly because I drive 1.5 hours every weekend to and from my girlfriends house, but it's worth it. I drive a new car and it was a huge factor in helping me quit cancer sticks.- kyletheaviator

Braun makes a good cheap one that you can pick up at the exchange. They're like $12, and may last easily three months before the batteries die. But then again I'm not super hairy either. What is your ideal setting?
Definitely outdoors with no wind and decent weather! Be it a park or at my barracks, those two things must be present. Of course I prefer being out in the woods but that's a bit rare- kyletheaviator
