Am I a "Smoker?" Advice Please.

But that's just it: except for the preceding month I haven't once exceeded their arbitrary five times in three months definition at any point in the past decade, and I very likely won't at any point going on, either. It's a fluke on par with getting struck by lightning on a clear day that this...

It looks like option 2 has won by a pretty decisive margin. Thanks for helping me vent some of that steam.

And the best part, is that they don't even mention marijuana. I guess I picked the wrong recreational smoke. :| It's just stupid.

It's health insurance, and it specifically mentions pipes in the definition. It took me about two days of digging before I finally found the one place where they defined it. *Edit* Here you go.

Am I a "Smoker?" Advice Please.

That's certainly the one I'm leaning toward, unless I actually take up smoking regularly, which I am also considering. I'm more than a little upset at just having been put in this position to begin with. Who are they to go around and start labeling me based on some ridiculous arbitrary metric...

Am I a "Smoker?" Advice Please.

On my 18th birthday I walked into a tobacconist's shop and walked back out with a pipe, just because I could. Two years later, while at college, I walked into a drug store and bought an ounce and a half of Prince Albert which I proceeded to smoke over the course of about a year. That pattern...

    Sealing Ball Jars

I've heard, but have not tried myself, that submerging the filled jars up to a quarter inch or so from the top in hot (from the tap) water for a couple of minutes is sufficient to insure the formation of a vacuum once you put the lids on and let them cool.

    Sealing Ball Jars

I wouldn't worry too much about it. If you are getting a vacuum seal then you technically don't even need the screw-on part of the lid. If the lids are depressed then you know your seal is intact. Here is a pertinent selection from the National Center for Home Food Preservation...

I Can Stop Whenever I Want.

I worried about that too before I got my first one, but seeing it in person did a lot to allay my fears. I might not feel comfortable keeping it in my jeans pocket, but it's actually pretty unobtrusive.

    Just in Case

Sorry all, I posted this after drinking a couple of rusty nails and reading a bunch of tobacco reviews that all recommended aging for a year or two, which struck me as contrary to the purpose of trying new blends. It was meant more or less in jest, but was inelegantly delivered.

    Just in Case

I've decided to start laying aside about a half a pound of pipe tobacco every month in the off chance I might want to take up smoking in another couple of years. I'm just messing with you, but how about some blends that are great without having to sit on them for a year (or ten)?

I Can Stop Whenever I Want.

You said it Kashmir. This will probably be my last acquisition for a while, if only to preserve domestic tranquility.

I Can Stop Whenever I Want.

Well, I've gone and done it again. After poking around the tobacco discussion forum I decided I needed to place an order for a few varieties I can't get locally, and I got to thinking about what a good smoker my new L'Anatra bulldog turned out to be, and one thing led to another and now I've got...

If You Could Only Have 4...

Which four tobaccos would you pick if that was all you could have? I'm thinking a Virginia (Dunhill Flake), an English (maybe Dunhill early morning pipe?), an aromatic (1-Q?), and maybe a va/per (Escudo or Redwoods?) Or maybe Frog Morton Cellar...

After 13 Yrars, My Second Pipe in a Month.

Decided I'd been missing out, so I ordered a churchwarden stem and a bent diplomat corncob from www.walkerbriarworks.com this evening. Should be a lot of fun and a good smoker if nothing else.
